He couldn't say how long or how far he ran, nor how many verses he came up with for his song. All he knew was that he needed to find a safe place for Martha's child. Eventually he found a large abandoned cabin, deep in the mountains, overlooking a massive lake with a rocky island in the middle. He knew there were no humans for miles upon miles, and in a small, forgotten cabin they could hardly be discovered by chance. But he needed something bigger...something better...no one should have to go through what he did.
"We're safe here Mavy...you and I are safe and sound."

As Dracula watched his little girl grow into her mother's daughter, with the same mischievous smile, sparkling eyes, and restless spirit, he remembered the humans. The ones that had done him wrong were long gone, but he swore to himself that he would never risk it again. He had promised to protect Mavis, and he would do whatever it took to keep what little remained of his Martha safe. He doubted he could ever forgive...and he certainly never forgot.
