Owen's POV

"ACK!!  Ow!"  I say, even though I try not to move or make a sound, that's kinda hard to do when it feels like your side is on fire.  "Will you calm down?"  Asks Raptor, placing some kind of salve onto the deep gash in my side.  I grimace in "What is that stuff, acid?"

"My own concoction.  I use it on my blisters after being out all day.  Soothing, right?"  She perkily replies, rubbing the salve in harder.

"Yeah sure.  The FBI uses this type of soothing.  During interrogations.  Ow!"  I yelp, jumping when she smacks me on my bad shoulder.  What? She hits hard.....

"Be quiet!  It's not going to be too much longer."  She says, before returning to her salve applying.  I suppose I shouldn't be giving her such a hard time, considering that if it weren't for her, I'd be dead.  The baby Velociraptor Sierra curls up in my lap, so at least I have something to feel good about.  The Huge T-Rex, Stevie, is snoring beside me, and even though it's in the middle of the day, most of the dinos are already taking naps.  Thankfully, with all of the salves and things that Raptor, the young dino trainer that I met, Is using, I seem to be healing already.  But it's not fast enough.  I told Raptor about the Indominus, and what'll happen if we can't stop it in time. Possible island-wide extinction of all people and dinosaurs.  And her home destroyed.  Not exactly something she was just going to let fly.

I bite my lip as she shoves a bit hard on the wound.  I've only been here for a few hours, but the pain is slowly ebbing away.  Except when she dabs that stuff on my wounds.  "Ack!"  I moan as she puts a fresh bandage on.

"Will you stop being such a baby?"  She asks, standing back up and walking over to the snoring Stevie.

"Look, thanks for all the help, but I have to go.  If I don't, the Indominus is going to kill everything out there."  I say, and she turns around.

"Look, you're not ready.  You can barely sit up, and that's with my help.  No way you can run over twenty to thirty miles to the park or control room."  Raptor replied, picking up Sierra and cuddling her.  I try to stand up, but get no further than a few inches off of the ground before falling back down to the floor.  "See?"  Raptor said, folding her arms as Sierra used her claws to hang on to Raptor's shoulder.  I knew better than to ask Raptor her real name, so for now, I just called her after the dino I had seen her with the most, and so far, she didn't mind.

"I have to get to the Control Center."  She groaned, rolling her eyes.  "What did I just say-"  "

Come on, Raptor.  There's got to be some way I can get over there."  Raptor sighed with exasperation, looking towards the ceiling.  She kicks a vine out of the way, and it skitters along the floor as she replies "You're in no condition.  Even if I found a way, you need to rest, not be running around chasing after some dinosaur.  Especially one this dangerous.  You'd be dead in five minutes out there.  Less than that if you're alone."  I rolled my eyes, but then turned completely serious.  Yeesh, what am I talking about?  I'm never completely serious.  "I need to get there, Raptor.  That Indominus will kill everyone and everything in the park. They need help out there, and we know things about it that they don't.  You know things about it that they don't.  Everyone else that saw it is probably dead.  We're the only ones that have a chance of taking that thing down."

Raptor sighs, staring at the snoring T-Rex lying just beside her.  Sierra curls up in her lap as she sits down next to me, and Raptor stares grimly at me.  "I know.  But...."  She sighs, her eyes closed.

"Fine.  I'll help.  I know these places, and where the Indominus might be hiding."  I looked at her, responding "You want to help?  Why?  People might find out about you, about your...."  I glanced around at the dinosaurs everywhere "Friends here."

She shook her head, looking towards me with those weird eyes. "You're hurt.  You'd never even get out that door without my help, let alone to the other side of the island.  It's a long way there, and I'll have to leave you within a considerable proximity to the park.  Close enough for them to find you, but not close enough for them to see me."  I nodded.  "Agreed."  I tried to stand, and my leg nearly gave out again, but Raptor leaped to her feet with all the agility of a cat and supported me.  Even though pain ripped through my body, I had to ignore it.  The Park was at stake, and all that was keeping it and all of the people inside of it alive was me....and one little girl.

Amari's POV

At the control room, I look at all of the monitors, all of the people who have no idea of the monster that was just unleashed on them.  They're all happy, running around and canoeing, eating and relaxing, playing with dinosaurs and just having fun.  They should be screaming.  Running.  This monster is nothing to laugh at, or ignore.  I look over all of the computer screens, desperately trying to find a survivor of the Indominus' escape.  But there seems to be no one.  Nothing has moved in that area in hours, and Claire is arranging ACU to take down the Indominus.  They can't take her down.  I know, I was there when she was designed.  I helped with it.  The prototype.....the one that we never released....that one was much, much more dangerous the Indominus.  Thank heaven that one was terminated.  At least, I hope she was. I see the ACU headed out to the jungle, their guns drawn and gear ready.  I hope they brought a Howitzer, they're going to need one.  And maybe a few tanks.  And the US Marine Corps.  Claire stands behind me, whispering "Do you think they're going to make it?"  I stare at the screens for a moment, particularly on the one that shows the heart rate and status of all the ACU troopers out in the field.  I shake my head weakly, whispering "I don't know.  I've seen what it can do."  Claire sets her lips in a grim line, slowly walking away from me towards Larry.  "Those men are going to die."  I whisper, and Claire whips around on me.  "You don't know that!"  I nod again "Yes, I do.  You're using non-lethal weapons, this thing is going to eat all of them for breakfast!  Literally!"  I retort, and her face gets red "You're not in control here!  This asset is worth several million dollars, we're not just going to blow it sky high!"  "You should!  It's a couple million dollars or the lives of several good men.  Your choice!"  I yell, and everyone falls silent, even Claire.  Mr. Masrani looks over at Claire uncertainly.  He has his flight gear on, getting ready to take off in the chopper if it comes to that.  I look out at the troopers, most of them not even knowing that this is the last time that they ever step out of those SUV's.  They slink along the river, their weapons drawn and ready, pointing and covering all different directions.  The jungle is hard enough to navigate, but with the darkness beginning to fall, and a murderous dinosaur on their tail, it just got a hundred times harder.

A mass of pink flesh sits on the creek, a small glowing cylinder secured inside.   The leader of the troopers signals them all to stop, kneeling down and picking up the bit of flesh, holding it up to the camera mounted on his helmet.  The Indominous tracking beacon is easily spotted. "Blood's still fresh,"  The lead trooper says "She's close."  Closer than you think.  I think, staring at the screen as if my life depends on what happens next.  Even though it's not my life.  It's theirs.  "That's her tracking implant.  But how would she know to claw it out?"  Claire asks, and I shudder before replying "She remembered where they put it in!"

A/N

Good gravy.

I didn't realize how long it had actually been since I'd updated.  I've been working on several other stories right now, and mostly just life in general being weird.  Sorry it's been so long!

Yes, this story is just getting farther and farther away from the movie.  It'll get crazier, and it won't end like the movie did, I can guarantee you that.  (If I ever get my lazy backside moving and finish this thing)

Anyway, hope you enjoyed this short chapter.

Have a great day y'all!
