A New Day. An Old Face.

As a new day on set began, it was obvious the two women could not hide their feelings for each other in front of their colleagues.

Sarah had arrived extra early. There was a few things she needed off her chest and she decided speaking about these issues with Ryan would open up a new world of possibilities. "listen Ryan. I don't think you understand what I'm trying to say." Sarah was beginning to get frustrated with Ryan.

"I understand perfectly what you're trying to say but I just think that if you tell the rest of the cast, things will get awkward and the show will be ruined."

"OKAY. but don't you think that it''s awkward enough as it is? I mean, I'm more than sure all the girls already have suspicions. plus it'll be easier just to say it and it'll be out there in the open. I mean, come on! We all work so well together and I'm sure everyone can feel the magnetic tension that engulfs the room when Lily and I are in together. Please Ryan. Everything will be easy when we just let everyone know."

"Fine Sarah. Do what you feel is right. Just don't ruin my show! Either way, have you even spoken about this with Lily?'

"I wanted to have this conversation first. Lily is the love of my life. I know how she is. If I would've told her about this she would've gotten excited or nervous and we would not even have had this type of conversation. Now that I have the go, I can tell her and things will go smoothly. Capish? Listen Ryan, I don't know if you approve or not but at this point, I know I love her and whether you approve or not, I'm going to love her still. with or with out your approval, I won't show my love at work but I need you to know that I wont change my mind."

"I know you Sarah. You're a good woman. I want you to be happy. I can't say I don't approve, I'd be a hypocrite. Just please be careful. You're a hardheaded one, make these decisions accordingly to how you feel is right."

"THANK YOU, thank you, thank you a million times Ryan! that's all I needed to hear!"

As Sarah was walking to her dressing room, She was fumbling with excitement as she dialed Lily's number. Suddenly she was forced to a stop as her figure collided with another female body. Still looking down at her phone, she didn't recognize the nostalgic face. Just about ready to pop off on this woman, a familiar voice was brought to her attention.

"What the hell Amanda!!! I don't hear from you in ages, I only ever see you on t.v.! Why the sudden visit?" Sarah spoke to Amanda in her dressing room.

"I saw and heard you were doing this show. i was in town so I decided to drop by. How are things? how have you been?" Amanda shrugged her shoulders, She felt as if it was nothing, compared to their given history.

Seeing Amanda brought back so many memories to Sarah. Some far too close to the heart that was more than willing to admit. Amanda Peet and Sarah had been great friends for years. Although Amanda was married there was an undeniable connection between the two. Sarah and Amanda had a short-lived fling that lasted way too short for the two to be able to develop deep feelings. But somehow, somewhere buried deep in all those years of friendship and separation, the feelings remained. Now, feelings faded and faintly recognizable on both their behalf, Sarah knew she should share her new relationship status.

"I've actually been doing good. I think this is the best I've ever been. I'm so happy now, I've fallen in love and now I have more than I have ever wanted or have had." Sarah replied with a huge smile on her face.

"WOW, Sarah. I'm exuberant for you. I'm doing good thanks for asking" Laughing, Amanda realized how much has changed, how long it's actually been and how in love Sarah was. Seeing Sarah just talk about being in love and happy, Amanda could tell it was genuine. Seeing Sarah speaking about it, she could see Sarah's eyes turn into stars and hearts as she talked and thought about her one true love.

"So, you gonna tell me who it is? who you're so in love with?" Amanda asked, breaking Sarah out of her little love trance.

Snapping back into reality Sarah's eyes brightened. "You'll be mad at me first, for I have fallen in love with a colleague. Oh! but she is absolutely wonderful! She brings light to my life, Amanda. Truly she is the best thing that has happened to me. Her name is Lily. Lily Rabe. Or should I say Lily my babe?" bursting into laughter, the two women recollected.

From a distance Sarah could hear the love her life's voice. "shh.. shh.. She's coming!" Sarah's voice grew with excitement and love. Walking to the corridor, she could see her love approaching. "When you see her, Amanda, well I just hope you don't fall in love with her too."

"Who are you talking to?" Lily asked as she came closer to the room and ultimately closer to Sarah.

"No one yet. I have some news to tell you first. oh hold on, give me sec." Sarah turned back into the room and announced to Amanda that she just needed a few minutes to speak to Lily in private. closing the door behind her, Sarah stepped into the empty hallway with Lily.

"Well, What is it?"

"Okay, well basically, we've been wanting to tell the rest of the girls for a while now right?" the shorter one replied. "Okay so, this morning I came by earlier than the rest of the girls to speak to Ryan on my own and.... He basically gave us the go to tell the other cast members!" she whisper shouted.

"Why didn't you ask me to come with you?" feeling somewhat excluded, Lily's eyes began to make the puppy-dog face that makes Sarah feel guilty.

Stuttering now, she answered with "well, I wanted to do it on my own because I thought it'd be a nice surprise for you. I mean, I want to tell everyone about us with you, but Ryan kind of.. sort of.. already knew and he got upset at first because he thought the tension off scene would be too much tension on scene. So this morning I decided that if, the two of us finally told everyone there would not be any suspicion or tension. so we discussed it and he said that if it was okay with you, we could tell everyone!" excited now Sarah saw the expression on Lily's face.

"This is why I love you. You're so amazing, it goes beyond words.." being basically speechless, Lily then proceeded to ask "So... Are you going to tell me who you were talking to or am I going to have to find out on my own.?"

"Jesus Lily. You sounded just like my mother!"

"Yes but I don't think mothers and daughters do what we do..." alluringly leaning in for a kiss, Lily was met halfway by Sarah. Standing there for about ten seconds, sharing a fulfilling smooch, the two were abruptly interrupted by the sound of a throat clearing.

Turning around embarrassed, Sarah and Lily both met Amanda's eyes .
