Lucy's POV:
when we reached the guild hall I realized I was still holding Natsu's hand and I immediately let go. what am I thinking I can't date my partner what if it doesn't work out and we end up hating each other. I am brought back by Natsu shaking me "Luce...hey Lucy you okay?" I reassure him "Of course I'm okay" I walk into the guild hall and leave him outside. "Hey Lucy where's flame brain?" Gray shouted across the room and waves me over to the table. I skipped over and sat at the end next to him "He's still outside I think" he looked at me funny "he's more stupid then I thought" Gray chuckled "Why's that?" I asked curiously "Who would leave a pretty girl like you alone on Christmas Eve" Juvia over heard and screamed "LOVE RIVAL!!" I quickly stood up " No Juvia I wouldn't do that to you" I gave Gray a death glare. He put his hands up in defense "It was a joke Lucy but you do look nice tonight and flame brain is to stupid to make a move" again Juvia screamed "LOVE RIVAL!!!". So I decided to sit at the bar instead.
~5 minutes earlier~
Natsu's POV:
Just as I'm about to open the door to the guild hall Lucy pulls her hand away I look at her confused. Does she think I'm an embarrassment, doesn't she like me..too.
She kind of zones out I try snapping her out of it "Luce...hey Lucy you okay?" She shakes her head and she doesn't look at me "Of course I'm okay" then she walks into the guild. I stood there in silence for a bit and decide to sit outside. I sit by the window and melt some of the ice and snow as well as warm up the ground.
I'm such an idiot of course she doesn't like me she probably like Gray or Loke or someone better. All of a sudden I her Gray. But all I can make out is him asking about me then i hear Lucy saying I'm outside then i hear Gray say he's more stupid then I thought then who'd leave a pretty girl alone on Christmas Eve. That's it I've had enough. I punch the ground beneath me and run back to Lucy's apartment.
~Back at the guild~
Lucy's POV:
I sit next to Cana at the bar "Mira can you get a drink for me and Lucy" Cana said with slurred speech. "I'm good Mira" I wave my hand "Nonsense Lucy here's one on the house its Christmas Eve live a little" I shrug "Ah what the heck its only one" I say shyly and start sipping on my drink. "Drink up Lucy its gonna be a long day" Cana hiccups between words. I walk over to Happy "What missions did you find for us Happy?" Happy gives me two pieces of paper "Well we can either go translate an old book or kill some monsters, your pick Lucy" I gave Happy the paper for the book "Here take this one to Mira and I'll put this one back on the board". Happy took the paper then gave me a grin and exclaimed "Aye!" I walked over to the board and pinned the monster quest back up. "Happy I'm going back to my apartment try and find Natsu will ya!" He gave me a quick Aye! before I ran out of the guild hall, I ran all the way to my apartment. As soon as I walked in the door I saw Natsu sitting on my bed then I saw tears fall to the floor once he notice I was there he wiped his eyes and then I ran over to him "Natsu what's wrong!?". He stayed quiet then he asked a strange question "Do you think I'm an idiot Lucy?" I hugged him tightly "Of course I do but only in the best way you make everyone you hold dear smile and laugh all the time with what you say and do but I don't actually think you're stupid". Natsu chuckled a bit then returned to moping. "Then why didn't you say anything to Gray, cause I heard that from outside the window"
Natsu's POV:
Lucy held me even tighter now "I'm sorry I didn't say anything to him Natsu". This time I held her tight too "It's alright Luce, but I should teach him a lesson for flirting with you" I chuckled again and released her from my embrace. She chuckled with me "No no there's no need for you two to fight". I grin and poke her side "So what's the mission huh?". She quickly turns around and starts searching for something "What are you looking for Luce?". "Ah ha! here they are my gale force reading glasses" she holds them up "Natsu this mission you and Happy get to sit and relax while I finish the mission, I'm gonna translate an old book" I nod "Okay thanks Luce let's get going" just then Happy flies through the window out of breath "There you are Natsu! Lucy sent me to find you and I couldn't so I came here and here you are" he looks at Lucy with a smirk "Lucy did you plan this so you could be alone with Natsu cause yooou liiike hiiimmm~" she gives me a small wink and we all make our way to the train station so we can go translate the book.
~8 hours later~
Lucy's POV:
"Done! Let's get the reward and go home" Natsu jolted awake from his sleep "Okay then we can get food right and lots of it" I chuckle and we go collected the reward and we went to the nearest restaurant so Natsu could eat. "Hey Luce aren't you gonna eat some of the food" he said with his cheeks full of food. I finally picked up some food and began to eat "This is the best turkey I've ever had" I exclaim. Natsu looked at me with a big grin and kept eating.
~1 and a ½ hours later~
No ones POV:
Lucy bought the tickects and they all boarded the train. Natsu was of course sick as always and Lucy tried to help by knocking him out.
