Chapter 6

I decided to drop Robin off and bring Teddie back to mine. I knew my parents were out because they’re usually doing the shopping in the town centre. I made myself and Teddie a drink. She wandered around my house like she used to when we were younger. For some reason she admired my house. She always said that I was posh, when I’m clearly not... She eventually wandered back into the kitchen... This was how I remember Teddie...

“Will you keep it?” I asked again.

“Ermm... I dunno about that...” She teased.

“Don’t be like that... Be honest with me Teddie...”

“Yes I will... Just for you...” She didn’t seem like she was really bothered whether she kept it or not...

“Good...”

“So, how’s Uni-life going?” She changed the subject... What was I supposed to tell her? That I’ve slept with loads of girls and that I don’t even remember how? I panicked on what I was even going to say,

“It’s okay...” I thought that she was going to leave it at that... But she obviously wasn’t... The questions came flying in...

“Is it good? Is it better than village-life? Do you miss any of us? Tell me the kind of things you do...”

“I miss you... I miss my family...” I started. I bit my lip and carried on. “I’ve done things that I totally regret...”

“Like what?” Her voice got duller.

“I’m not gonna hide anything from you...” She nudged me to hurry up speaking and get to the point. “I’ve woke up some mornings with a girl next to me... Not remembering how and when she got there...”

“You got drunk?” She knew straight away.

“Yeah...” I mumbled back. “I’m sorry Teddie...”

“Why are you apologising to me? It’s the baby you need to be apologising to...” She said. She seemed to accept it for some reason. Maybe, she already knew the implications of Uni-life. She looked down at her bump and spoke to it like a young child in her arms. “What’s daddy been doing, aye? He’s been a naughty boy... You better not be like him little one...” I felt so guilty. She looked up at me and said, “He can hear us...”

“Teddie... It never meant to happen...” I told her.

“Okay. Well you better buck your ideas up and think about what you’re going to do...” She sounded just like my mother.

“I swear to you Teddie... I’ll do anything... I mean ANYTHING...” I believed. Whether she believed me or not, is completely up to her.

“Do you love me?” She rose seriously... As a matter of fact I did... Whilst I wasn’t there for her, I started to realise that I wanted her even more... I needed her...

“Yes I do...” Telling her the honest truth...

“Do you love this baby?”

“Yes I do...” I repeated.

“Ouch!” She moaned pressing her hand into her side like she was in pain... I ran over to her and panicked. “Ha-ha! You fell for it!” She joked.

“You had me worried for a minute then. Don’t do that to me!” I snapped back. Not in a nasty way. She stood there laughing her head off... Like something was amusingly funny... When she eventually stopped laughing, she glared at me... My pupils enlarged... She came closer to me... I stood staring at the middle height girl... I brushed her hair behind her ear and gently ran my fingers down her cheek. Her breath got heavier and her eyes got more intense. I felt tension... Like something was going to happen... Before I realised what was going on, she ran up to me, wrapping her arms across my shoulders pulling me in closer to her... Her lips smoothing mine sensationally...
