Connor's POV.

*Beep beep. Beep beep.*

That was all I could hear.

I stayed silent as I heard the monotone impulses of sound, breaking through my unconscious barrier. I could hear the monotonous noise, growing stronger within the seconds.

The once quiet sound is all that I have heard in the past few days. I'm not even sure if it's been an hour, or maybe a month, but I'm beginning to get restless in this solemn position.

I can feel my arms, bound to my side, and my head nestled into something comforting, something unlike the sticks and stones that I currently used as a pillow.

Were we out of the woods at all?

I had no sense of where I was right now, my mind too focused on prising my eyes open. They were glued shut, almost numb, as if I had lost the use of my eyelids.

Come to think of it, my whole body was numb right now.

I desperately tried to move, slowly flexing my fingers in my unconscious state. I couldn't move anything else, my disobedient limbs rendering me weak, as they refused to budge, sitting quite happily against my side.

I wanted out of this mess, I wanted to wake up. I felt no pain anymore, and I wanted to feel something again. I needed someone to reassure me, summon me from this perplexed daze that I was currently swallowed in. I wanted them to wrap their arms around my torso, and bury their head into my chest. I wanted my mum to make me feel at ease, stroking back my hair as she always did, making a nightmare disappear, just as if I was a child again.

I just wanted someone to tell me that I was going to be okay.

*Beep beep. Beep beep.*

The noise was rippling through me. It dragged me slowly, painfully out of this daze. I could feel the sound getting stronger, clearer, as my thoughts disappeared. It was comforting in a way, proving that I was very much alive, breathing slowly as it beat again.

This time I wiggled my toes, the feeling to my extremities emerging again, as the limbs that once rendered me weak, shifted to my power, giving me near enough to full control.

I could feel something encasing me, something tightly wrapped around me and my stomach. I still felt numb, out of it, as I fumbled around. The only weight present in my thoughts, was the one now sat on my left hand.

It was growling stronger, the feeling of someone's touch. It disabled me from moving my fingers, and I was too weak to fight against its grip.

Someone was gripping it tightly, and it rendered me baffled as to who it would be.

I tried once again to move something else, but I had exhausted myself, prior to this moment. I felt sleepy, even though I was asleep, I felt achy even though my body was at rest.

The numb feeling was slowly ebbing away.

My stomach hurt.

It felt as if it had been through a painful hell, as it began to sting furiously, an awfully familiar ache returning itself. I went to groan, but my voice let only a silent scream pass, going unnoticed to whoever was sat beside me.

Maybe they were asleep too?

*Beep beep. Beep beep.*

My ears felt as if they were ringing, the noise penetrating me with such force that I began to feel the sensation growing too strong. My thoughts were beginning to get drowned out by the awful sound, and it suddenly made me want to squirm, grimace as its presence was overpowering.
