"I'm starving" Tom said as he, Vorona and Shizuo walked away from yet another client who was smart enough to recognize Shizuo and immediately tied up the loose ends.
"You guys wanna go get lunch?"
Shizuo simply grunted and Vorona nodded, "Affirmative. Shall we go to Russian Sushi?"
"Fine by me" Tom agreed.
As they neared the sushi place, Simon paused from handing out flyers to shaking passers-by to greet the three, "Why isn't it Mr. Tom and gang!"
"Hey Simon" Tom raised his hand in greeting "It's our lunch break"
"Oh, lunch! Why not have sushi, then? Good for empty tummies. Name also came for good sushi"
Shizuo's ears perked up "Name is here?"
"Yes, yes. Just came in"
"Great, thanks, Simon" Shizuo said a little too cheerfully. Naturally, the others noticed this.
"My, my" Simon leaned down to whisper to Tom "Shizuo seems much happier these days, no?"
"Yep, our Strongest Man has a crush on the new girl in town" The two shared a quiet snicker as they watched the smile forming on Shizuo's usually uninterested face.
Vorona's face stayed stern save for the slight frown on her thin lips. When Shizuo had introduced Name to her, the two seemed awfully close. Name could even calm him down better than Tom. Needless to say, the beautiful Russian was jealous. And people weren't exactly at their best when they were jealous.
"A potential threat" was Vorona's first impression of Name. The blonde was much colder towards Name than with most people. Though they had some similarities like their appreciation for a good book and a tasty pastry, Vorona focused more on things that made her dislike Name more. For instance; Name constantly "hogging" her sempai.
Ah, love, thou art one heartless bitch.
"Vorona?"
"Huh?"
Shizuo's voice snapped the girl out of her trance. She glanced over to him and he motioned towards the restaurant, Tom already entering.
"Oh, yes. Let's go" She said and they quickly followed their boss.
Tom stopped in his tracks and he had a worried look. Shizuo and Vorona followed his line of sight and were both taken aback as well.
"I really don't get why you keep acting like a pain in the ass all the time. If you tried I'm sure you'll get more friends than... well, none"
"I have you and Shinra, don't I? I'd rather not get too attached with anybody else"
Shizuo felt the blood rush beneath his skin as he saw Izaya casually speaking with Name as they ate sushi together. Nobody ever understood why but the two got along well despite the rivalry between Shizuo and Izaya. It was probably because Name—much like Shinra—was easy-going compared to most people and had a peculiar affinity for danger, or perhaps, considering the men and women around her, it was the other way around. But for whatever reason, she and Izaya grew close.
Naturally, Shizuo couldn't stand any of it.
"My, my, Shizu-chan's here" Izaya stood up "Until our next meeting, Name-kun" He kissed the back of her hand and vanished through the open window by their table.
