Chapter 2: New Friends

No one's P.O.V.
Maika is in the Foodcourt holding her tray of food. When she was looking around for a seat, she noticed that the other watchdogs were looking at her and whispering things. She got a little nervous and sad and tried to ignore it but the question 'What are they talking about?' kept going around in her head. She finally found a seat that is not occupied by any watchdog.

She sat down and noticed that the watchdogs were still looking and whispering but this time some gasped and some had an evil smirk. "Maika?" She snapped out of her thoughts and looked around to see Commander Peepers standing beside the table holding his tray of food. "You know, this is actually where I usually sit during my break." "Oh! I'm sorry I'll just-" Maika said as she was about to stand up. "No no no it's okay besides, there's nowhere else to sit." Peepers said as he and Maika sat down and the watchdogs went back to their regular doings pretending that Maika and Peepers are invisible.

There was silence between Maika and Peepers. Then Peepers noticed that Maika was just poking her food with her fork. "Are you okay Maika? 'cause when I first met you, you were pretty hyper." "*sigh* It's just... I'm new here and I'm practically the only girl here, so I just think that maybe I'm not fit to be one of Lord Hater's watchdogs." Maika said sadly. "Maika, before you moved in, they had to put you through many tests and a lot of them deals with your physical skills. Am I right?" Maika nodded. "If you passed all those tests, it means that you are fit to be one of Lord Hater's watchdogs." Peepers said trying to comfort her. There was silence again, then Maika spoke "I remember my trainer saying something about a nomad and a zbornak." Peepers sighed in irritation. "He was talking about Wander and Sylvia. Lord Hater's most hated enemies."

"Why does Lord Hater hate them so much?"

"Because whenever we arrive to conquer a planet, they will always show up and ruin everything."

Then Peepers started talking about the times when Wander and Sylvia foiled Lord Hater's plans. Like the time when Wander challenged him to a contest and Lord Hater lost, the time when Lord Hater tried making his wish upon a celestial being of infinite power, the time when they came to the queen's fancy party, the time Peepers tried to capture Wander who was running around the ship and the time when he attempted to capture Wander and Sylvia from the bounty hunters.

"Wow. I never knew they caused that much trouble."

"Yeah. that's why I've been trying to make Lord Hater focus on invading planets but no matter what he is always so distracted in trying to destroy Wander and Sylvia."

"Well, they're not the only ones stoping Lord Hater from invading planets. There are other villains out there who wants to have the entire galaxy."

"Yeah, like Emperor Awsome."

"Ew, I really hate that guy. I think Lord Hater is more evil than him."

Then they started talking about other villains they know. They also gave their personal opinions about them and they would sometimes laugh about each other's funny opinions. Then Peepers's phone rang, then he picked it up. "Yes sir?.... Ok I'll be right there sir." then Peepers put down the phone.

"What happened?"

"Lord Hater needs help trying to fix his TV."

"I guess I also need to go I'm not yet done with the long tour of Lord Hater's ship. Bye sir."

Maika stood up and walked away "Wait, Maika..." then Maika stopped and turned around to see Peepers who's walking up to her "Look, I had fun talking to you, so is it okay if we do this again tomorrow during our break?" then Maika's eye sparkled with joy and she hugged Peepers saying "Oh Thank you very much!" then she realized that she was hugging him a little awkwardly so she backed up and said "I mean, *clears throat* thank you sir." then they both turned and walked away in opposite directions and they both whispered to themselves at the same time "Yes!"
