Chapter 5: The Secret Part 2

Peeper's P.O.V.
There was a beeping noise. I opened my eye realizing I fell asleep, I looked at Maika to see that she's still sleeping. I looked at the controls of the ship and saw that the beeping noise came from a small flashing red light and out the window I saw Lord Hater's ship. "Hey, Maika we're here." I whispered to her while shaking her a bit. She groaned a bit but she got up and asked "Already?" And I pointed at the window of the ship. Maika got up from her seat and said "Alright, let's- Ow!" She was about to walk but she immediately held her injured leg and looked at it to see that the cloth tied around it is blood-red. "Ok, let's take this nice and slow." I said as I got up and put my arm on her back and her arm on my shoulders and I helped her walk out of the ship and enter Lord Hater's ship.

All the watchdogs are asleep so it was pretty quiet. We reached the door of the ship's clinic and I knocked on the door. A watchdog in a doctor's outfit opened the door and let us in. I sat down on a chair at the side in front of the door of the room where the doctor is treating Maika's wound. Then Lord Hater entered the clinic in his pajamas and he seems to be really tired. "*yawns* Peepers, explanation." Lord Hater asked me. I gulped, 'Alright Peepers you promised Maika that you will keep her powers a secret.' I thought to myself before I spoke "Well you see sir, I was kidnapped by Dr. Blob and Maika came to save me and we both defeated Dr. Blob like a duo and escaped. Well barely, 'cause Maika got shot in the leg but otherwise, we made it out alive."I answered as confident as I can. Lord Hater put his finger on his chin like he's thinking about something and finally spoke

"Did you say you two defeated Dr. Blob like a duo?"

"Yes."

"Hmmm. Alright so I've made my decision, Maika will rise to higher position, close to be a commander but lower like an assistant of some sorts."

"Assistant Commander?"

"Yeah something like that, just prepare the ceremony tomorrow." That's when I felt like jumping up in joy 'cause me and Maika can see and talk to each other more often. "Yes! I mean thank you sir." Then Lord Hater yawned and walked out of the clinic. Then Maika walked out of the room with a bandage on her injured leg, she's still limping but not that much.

"Well?" I asked Maika.

"The doctor said that the wound was already closing so it will heal a bit quicker." She answered.

"And um, Lord Hater came and told me that you'll be my Assistant Commander and there will be a ceremony tomorrow." I said to her then she jumped around in joy and said "Yes! Now we can finally be together more often, even though it's for work." Then she yawned "*yawns* But I'll just reserve all my happy energy for tomorrow." Then she closed her eye and started to fall but luckily I caught her. "Um, Maika?" I said to her but no reply which means she's asleep 'Great.' I thought. Then I carried her in my arms and walked out of the clinic.

I walked down the hallway to her room because her room is on the same floor. I looked down at Maika to see her sleeping comfortably in my arms. When I reached Maika's room, I opened the door and carefully layed her down on her bed. When I was about to walk out I heard Maika call out to me "Commander Peepers." I turned to her and she said "If you want to understand a bit more about me, just read through a folder that says "Project Railgun" on it. It's in the box in the closet." I walked to the closet across the room and opened it to see a box that I later recognized as the one that I returned to Maika when we first met. I opened the box and pulled out the folder that says "Project Railgun" in the title. I took one last glance at Maika to see her sleeping peacefully. 'She actually looks nice when she's sleeping.' I thought to myself and I walked out of the room and closed the door.

I sat down on a desk in my room and turned on the lamp. I opened the folder and read through the papers and figured out how they gave Maika her powers. Then I found a small brown envelope in the folder, I opened it and pulled out a CD that says "Railgun Testings 1-4" I put the CD in the DVD player of my TV and watched how they tested Maika's strength, I also saw how dreadful her life was. In the first testing, Maika had to destroy 2 waves of robots. Second testing, Maika had to destroy a wave of gigantic robots. Third testing, Maika had to destroy giant laser guns that are used to destroy ships that are shooting at her in the same time. And whenever Maika won't move or she's slowing down, Dr. Blob will press a button and a metal arm will come down from the ceiling holding a lash with a sharp point at the edge and it will hit Maika multiple times 'till she moves.

In the fourth testing, there was a robot just standing in the middle of the room. Maika was about to use her coin on it but she stopped and seems to be thinking about something. "What are you waiting for? Shoot it!" Dr. Blob shouted from an observation tower through a microphone. But Maika just stood there, staring at the robot with the coin in her hand.

"Damn it! If you don't do it I'll send down the lash." Dr. Blob threatened.

"Ok, I'll do it!" Maika said in fear and finally shooted the robot with her coin. The robot was pushed to the wall but something weird happened, there was blood that splattered from the robot but then the robot was revealed to be a hologram. The hologram faded and it turns out to be a small creature with a fabric bag over it's head and it's hands are tied around it's back. The creature layed on the floor as blood flowed out, Maika slowly walked to the creature, she removed the fabric bag from it's head and she gasped because it was a female watchdog. "M-Mom." Maika said as she kneeled down in front of her mom and started crying. After a while, Dr. Blob spoke "Well, that's it for the day, time to head back to your cellar." But Maika just kneeled there without any movement. "Hello?! I said get back to your cellar!" Dr. Blob shouted. Then Maika stood up and shouted "This is YOUR FAULT!" She turned around and lightning emited from her body like she was about to explode, then Dr. Blob pressed a button and the metel arm with the lash came down but Maika used her lightning and destroyed the arm and then she blasted a whole through the wall. "I want all troops mobilized! The Railgun is on the loose! I repeat, Railgun is on the loose!" Dr. Blob shouted through a walkie talkie. Then the door of the room where Dr. Blob is in exploded and that was the end of the footage.

I put the CD back in its envelope in the folder and closed the lamp and layed down on my bed. 'Wow, I can't believe Maika went through all that. Now I understand, she just wants to be treated like a person. I promise her that tomorrow will be the best day of her life.' I thought to myself, then I fell asleep.
