Forbidden Territory (warrior cats fan fiction)

Chapter 6

" Woodfoot can i go on a hunting patrol?" Asked Rosefire. Recently Rosefire's belly had become heavy but she had just thought she had been eating to much fresh kill.

"Um Rosefire i think you should go to swiftstride you look like your about to burst with kits" at this Rosefire was shocked at this but went to the medicine cats den anyway.

"Rosefire how did you not realise that you were expecting?" swiftstride said in confusion 

"Um.. it wasn't on the top of my list i guess" Rosefire replied.

Rosefire had one thing on the top of her list now and that was finding Tawnyrock to tell him the good news. She came out of the den and saw him sitting, chatting happily to Bramblefrost and Cedarthicket.

"Um.. Tawnyrock may i talk to you alone please?" Rose asked cautiously.

Tawnyrock got up reluctantly.

"Yep what is it?" He muttered

"Um...Well...I'm expecting kits.. your kits"

"WOW..REALLY" Tawnyrock exclaimed "we must tell Lightningstorm that she is going to have kin!!"

Rosefire was blown away at how excited Lightningstorm was when she found out. But she dropped a bombshell.

"well me and gravelpelt are expecting kits of our own."

Tawnyrock was gleaming for the next moon and so was gravelpelt. They were always seen huddling together talking of training and if their sons or daughters would be leaders and deputies or even medicine cats in the future. 

Both Rosefire and Lightningstorm had moved to the nursary and could be seen staring intently at the older kits tumbling around with moss balls. They also were chatting to the medicine cats and other queens about the delivery and health of the kit.

What was worrying to all the clan was the thick layer of snow gathering in the forest and the lack of prey coming in. Alot of the clan had to share in fours and some of the main warriors had to  go hungry. Tawnyrock and Gravelpelt hunted the hardest of all. The battle training was carried out in the centre of the camp where there had been a clearing made out of the snow. The elders often watched and critiqued the apprentces and young warriors.

"May all cats old enough to catch their own prey please join me below the tallrock" 

The clan was shocked when mossystars voice was rang out through the clearing. A murmur of "is it bad news?" and " What is going on?"

"As you will all know we have been going through a tough time as a clan but there has been two cats that have helped out the clan so much and today i am going to add some new senior warriors to the den. Tawnyrock and Gravelpelt please join me up here." 

The two cats looked shocked but there mates looked proud at the prospect of having a senior warriors as a partner.

"As you will know you two toms will become parents soon and have helped at the prospect of caring for your kits thus helping the cats in the clan as well. If you keep it up you will be amazing senior warriors. Cloudclan look down on these two cats and help them in the future."

After the ceremony Rosefire felt a sharp pain in her belly.

"OW!! Help my stomach hurts i think the kits are coming. OW!!!" As she said this her tummy gave a violent lurch. 

Swiftstride guided her into the nursery. In the nursery tawnyrock massaged her belly like the Rosefire did when flowerberry had her kits.

The first kits slid out and Tawnyrock cut the sack. It was a beautiful dark brown kit with a purpley tinge to it. The kit had a little white tip o0f the tail.

Soon after another little body slipped out it was paler pinky brown also with a white tip.

"you have two she cats. Would you like to name them?"

"Um well i think we should name the first one damsonkit after the colour of there fur is dark like the colour of the plumb" Said rosefire

"Yeah thats beautiful, i think the second should be called duskkit also because of her coloured fur."

So Rosefire and Tawnyrock intwined tails. Staring at there kits intently
