Chapter 12

Tori's pov

Quickly sitting up I jump off of Jade and scurry to the corner of the room. I can still hear his laugh. I cover my ears and screw my eyes shut tightly. I make out Jade getting up and trying to walk over to me.

"Don't. Please. Stay there."

By now I'm a sobbing mess and Jade sits next to me despite me warning her. I scratch at my forehead head trying to get it to stop. I haven't had a night terror this bad in a really long time.

Nothing is working so I do the only thing I can. I scream.

My eyes are still shut and I feel Jade wrapping her arms around me. She starts singing quietly and I open my eyes.

Eventually my breathing gets back to normal and I sigh leaning heavily into her.

"Come on. Let's get the blood off you." Jade says picking me up. She helps me undress and runs a warm bath.

"I'll be right back. I'm going to get you some clothes." She says.

As soon as she leaves I start crying again. A sob escapes my lips and Jade rushes back in with new clothes and undergarments and towels for both of us. She undresses while saying, "Sit up." I lean forward and she gets in behind me. She wraps her arms around me and pulls me in to her.

"I'm sorry." I wince as I speak. My throat burns from all the screaming.

"Why?" She asks.

"That you had to see that. That I've been so clingy, it's probably annoying. I'm just sorry for everything." I say my voice coming out hoarse.

"It wasn't your fault. About the clingy part, I honestly don't mind it. We're all broken that's how the light gets in." She says.

Since we have a wide bathtub I'm able to turn around and climb on her lap straddling her. I place my lips on hers and our lips move in sync as I wrap my legs around her back and my arms around her neck. I pull back to trail kisses down her neck and lay my head on her shoulder.

"Jade?"

"Yea, Vega?"

"I wanna get better. I can't do this anymore. I can't keep hurting myself or the people around me. I think," I lick my lips and lift my head from her shoulder, "I think that I need help, Jade." My vision blurs with tears and Jade smiles sadly.

"I know, love. I think it's a good idea for you to get some help and I'm very proud of you for recognizing that." She kisses my forehead and brushes my hair away from my face.

"Close your eyes." She tells me while cupping her hands as a makeshift cup. I close my eyes and she rinses the dried up blood from the scratches off of my face.

We drain the water and close the curtain so we can turn the shower on. We stand up and wash our hair our hair and bodies.

We get out and start to get changed when Jade randomly asks, "Will you go on date with me tonight? I don't think we've ever been on an official date." She asks.

"I'd love to." I smile kissing her cheek before we finish changing.

We walk out of the bathroom and go into our room when we hear Hadley talking.

"They're in the shower." She states and whoever is here chokes on their drink.

I laugh and Jade smiles while looking at me lovingly. "What?" I ask her.

She shakes her head and traces her fingertips across my chest.

Finally understanding I run to the bathroom.
