Chapter 11 ~ Down By the Lake

Rose's POV:

When we arrived at the house, Harry showed me the spare bedroom. He helped me to get all my belongings from the college to his house. The rest of the day I was left alone, Harry barely bothered me now. I called my parents to let them know I was out of the hospital now. "Yes, mom I won't drive a car off the road again. Promise." I said laughing a little at how serious she was about this. "Okay, Rosie your father and I love you so much." She said, we said our goodbyes and I was left alone again.

The spare bedroom had a large bed in the middle of it with white sheets and pillowcases. There was a large window at the end of the room, showing the trees and the mountains. It was too big for one person, this whole house is too big. I walked back over to the bed and grabbed the phone again, dialing a number. "Hello?" I said into the phone, waiting for a reply. "Hello, this is Eva Sanchez at Michigan State. How may I help you?" The woman's soft voice asked. "Hi, Eva I'm Rose Alvarez I just wanted to let you know I'm not going to be at the college for a long time." I said, unsure of why I was doing this right now. "May I ask why Ms. Alvarez?" She said, I explained to her that I had been in a bad car accident. "I'm sorry that happened to you m'am do you know how long you'll be out?" We continued to talk about my absence and if I was going to return soon. Considering I've already missed a lot, and there's no point in going back now especially if this supernatural side of my life continues to live.

"For now, I don't know if I'm going to return to the college. I have my room already packed up, I think I'm going to have to take a year off." I said, my parents will be so disappointed in me. "Now Ms. Alvarez, are you sure you want to think about this right now? Call me back in two weeks and let me know if you still want to take a year off. Goodbye Rose." She soon hung up the phone leaving me with my thoughts. I don't know what I was thinking. I can't drop out and take a year off there's too much at stake. Could I even get back in? College was always my priority since I was little, I can't just give up on it because a road block has blocked me. I groaned an tossed the phone off the bed, laying my head down on the soft pillows.

After awhile of just laying and driving myself insane with my thoughts, I got up and went to the bathroom. I took a quick shower, and got myself ready to doing absolutely nothing. My make-up and hair was done, I was wearing a black tank top with a leather jacket, and black skinny jeans to match. I went back to my bag that had all my shoes and put on my black boots completing the look.

Leaving the room I went into the extensive hallway down to where Harry's room way. His door was left open, and it didn't look like he was inside his room. I went in looking around the big room there was no pictures on his walls. The gray walls giving a very gloomy feeling to his room, the large bed with white sheets on it and a dark wood nightstand.

On the nightstand there was a picture of Harry and very happy brunette girl, they were both smiling in the picture. I carefully picked it up and looked at them smiling at each other.

"Rose?" Harry's voice spoke out suddenly, I turned around and saw him standing in the doorway. "Hi," I said my voice squeaking a little and I turned towards him placing the picture back down. "What are you doing?" He asked giving me a stern look as he walked closer to me. I kept trying to think of a good reason on why I was in his room in the first place. So I just winged it. "Who's the brunette girl in the picture?" Harry looked at me as if I said something in a different language. "Doesn't matter, please will you come downstairs." Harry said completely avoiding my question about the girl.

We went downstairs, Harry put on his jacket and opened the front door. He took me down to a rocky hill that had a little deck showing the lake at the bottom. "I thought you must be hungry, considering you're a human." Harry said giving me a nervous smile. On the deck was a black table that had various of food items, there was candles around the deck lighting the place up. "Thank you for doing this," I said, it's been a couple days since I've last ate actual food. I dug into the food not really caring for my lady like manners while eating. "Woah slow down." Harry said laughing at me.

I wiped my mouth, and sat up straight. "So, tell me a little about you." I said, taking a quick drink of my water. "Oh, well there isn't much to tell Rose. It's quite a boring tale to tell." Harry said, looking out onto the lake, the sun slowly setting behind the trees. "Seriously? You're a vampire! Harry there's got to be a good story in your past." I said, is this guy kidding me?

Harry gave me a smile showing his dimples that I haven't seen before till now. "Okay, fine."
