Daichi sighed as he looked out the classroom window. The leaves of the trees swayed in the air, some falling softly onto the school yard. It was another day. Tomorrow will be better, he thought.

"Tomorrow, she will surely talk to me."

Should I approach you or not? Should I talk to you or not?

Daichi sees you walking in the halls. What would happen if he went to say hi? Would he ask how your day went? The captain of the volleyball team could only dream as he stood a few feet away from your figure. You were among a group of girls, laughing and smiling. Reluctant, he turned away and began to head to practice.

He reminisced on those times.

The times where you'd playfully fight him and the battles would always end with laughter and no winners.

The times where he would help you with homework but you'd get off track and start bugging him.

And the most important, the times where he made you smile.

Would this hello sound better or that? Would you greet me back?
I only think about it again today and the opportunity leaves

Another few days had passed, and the seasons began to change. The leaves were turning into hues of orange and brown, and the weather was getting colder.

"Hello," Daichi said, tapping your shoulder to get your attention. He had finally got the courage to say it. You turn around to see a smiling face. You grin back at the taller male.

"Hello Sawamura-kun. How are you?"

His heart skipped a beat as your voice met his ears. It's been a while since I've heard this. He thought while getting lost in your eyes and your smile. But he knew that he could never be near you like this again.

You always thought that Daichi was very composed and kind. A very nice and kind guy, to sum it up. Those were your only feelings for him. Nothing less, nothing more.

"I'm doing well. How about you?"

"I'm feeling good. It's always nice to talk to you," your lips moved to a smile. "The volleyball club is going well?"

The.. volleyball club.. she never asked me about it, ever. Daichi thought. "Mhm. Though I've noticed that we're losing most of our practice games.." he chuckled, while scratching his cheeks that were tinted red.

"Aw, but just know that you are always growing and improving as you practice! I'm sure you guys will get back to the top." Your warm hand had been placed onto his shoulder, patting it softly.

She never said things like this.. before.. Daichi suddenly gets the urge to hug you and wraps his arms around your tiny self.

"S-Sawamura-kun..!?" You peep from the tight embrace, your arms being squished from the sides and your face buried in his chest.

Taking notice of what he had just done, Daichi's eyes widen and he releases the hug. "I-I'm sorry (L/N)-chan.. I just.." Missed you a lot. I wanted to hug you after so long. Please...

"It's fine..!" you pipe with a light pink tinted on your cheeks. As the two of you stood there awkwardly, you couldn't help but think that the boy standing in front of was familiar.
