**Kody's POV**
I would never admit it, but I was nervous to meet my new pack. I hoped they liked me and accepted me, like Alark did.
He had mentioned he had a daughter, and I would be lying if I said wasn't interested.
With my special hearing, I listened as Alark explained my arrival.
Finally, I was told to come in. I placed an easy smirk on my lips and wiped my sweaty palms on the denim of my jeans. Here it goes.
"Hello again, Kody. I would like you to meet your new pack," He says, gesturing to the group of teens splayed across the couch and floor.
I see three big guys at first, and then two small ones. There are two girls sitting on eachother's lap, another one snuggling one of the boys, all giggling and whispering. I almost didn't notice the small girl settled in between two boys, her hand holding the big male's.
As soon as I see her, my heart starts thumping even more and I struggle to speak. This cannot be happening right now, especially with her.
The girl isn't ugly, but she was no Carla, my old girlfriend.
Curly brown hair layed across her shoulders, long eyelashes framing stunning blue eyes. Her clothes, though baggy, weren't half bad.
I noticed a small heart shaped scar on her cheekbone, and wondered were it came from. Then the realiation hit me.
This girl was my mate.
I tried to regain my composure after the boy holding my mate's hand smirked at my expression.
"I'm Kody. And you are?" I said, as politely as I could.
"I'm Reese. I am the left hand." He grins, and I can tell he is the un-official leader of the pack.
I turn my attention to my future girlfriend and see she is blushing.
"Hey. What's your name?" I try to keep it casual, but I can't hide the tremor in my voice.
She doesn't say anything, just points to Reese. I glance at him confused.
"That's my twin sister, Rebel." He tells me, and I smile.
Rebel is a unique name, and it suits her perfectly. I wonder why she never spoke though.
"I am the mighty Nick, but you can call me Omega!" A low voice yells, and I see it's the boy on Rebel's left.
I chuckle, but stop when the voice of the Alpha cuts through the laughs.
He glares at Rebel.
"Daughter, tell what rank you are." He commands, and her smile is gone.
I feel an intruder enter my brain and a beautiful sound exlpode in it. "I'm Rebel, and in one month I will be Alpha." She whispers.
My mouth drops in shock. This tiny girl will be the leader? My mate? Wow.
"Shut your mouth, you will catch flies," A snarky voice smirks. "I'm Elena. This is Cassidy'" She points to the girl on her lap, who gives a little wave.
"I'm Patrick, and this is Martha, my mate," He glares, but the girl looks clingy, I wouldn't bother.
"And the best for last, I'm Andrew and this is my brother Ky." The two skrawny boys bow, obviously the jokers.
Well, they are nothing like my last pack.
"Yeah, I would think so," A small voice that belongs to Rebel echos in my brain.
"Why don't you talk?" I think back and watch the cute grin slip from her face. "Because, mate, I am mute." She says, her voice hard and monotone.
You have got to be kidding me. My mate is a mute?
What did I do to deserve this, God! I think, and then realize my mistake.
Rebel is tugging on her twin's sleeve, tears threatening to spill over. I can tell she is telapathically speaking to Reese, and he looks angry.
Rebel run's out, Nick following her. I try to as well, but Reese steps in my path. He is the same size as me, maybe a little bit taller.
"What did you say about my sister?" He growls.
Uh oh.
**Rebel POV**
After hearing Kody's thoughts, I tell Reese what happened and race to my room, tears spilling down my face.
Nick'loud footsteps follow behind me, but I don't care.
I end up in the bathroom, a razor in hand. Nick pounds on the door, screaming and yelling. I supposed he knew what I was about to do.
I lifted up the fabric of my sweater and cut a line into my wrist.
I was suddenly upside down, watching as I cut again and again. I felt light and bubbly, a feeling I could never describe. I was on a cloud, talking to my mother. I ran to her open arms, weeping into her shirt.
She pulls me back and plants a kiss on my forehead. "I love you baby," She whispers.
"I love you too." I smile, and everything is gone.
I am laying on the cold tile floor, my glassy eyes staring at the white ceiling.
The blade lays in my cold motionless hand, the blood staining the sleeve of my sweater. My other arm is like a kindergardens drawings, a jumble of lines that don't make sense. Hot red liquid pours through the wounds pooling onto the bath mat.
I am still there, still aware, but barely. I am aware of Nick, knocking the door over. Shouting and screaming occurs, but I don't react.
Voices trying to deasperatly reach my train of thought, but they can't. A warm body picks me up, hugging me close.
Then I go limp.
