Felicity's P.O.V
I sat in our second lunch hour, staring at the white bandage around my knuckles, i can't believe i actually punched Jessie. Ive never punched anyone in the face before. A tap on my shoulder snapped me out of my thoughts.
"We saw what happened" Cass smiled, "It was awesome" all the others agreeing, i grinned at everyone. But all of a sudden, everyone went quiet as they glanced at something behind me. I turned in my seat, not expecting to see Brett there with a single white rose and a lop-sided grin. I laughed a little in disbelief as he stood there, i looked at everyone on our table who looked slightly shocked while Cass kept her face blank of emotion but i could tell she so desperately wanted to squeal.
"Stand up please" Brett said, i stood up, he approached me and handed the rose to me, i took it with a slight blush. I looked up at him in confusion, his eyes held a twinkle in them i couldnt tell what it was.
"Brett, what..?" I smiled, clutching onto the rose with both my hands.
"Felicity, would you like to go on a date with me tomorrow night?" He asks, biting his bottom lip afterwards. My eyes slightly widen before i look back at Cass who still had a blank expression, obviously hoping Brett would try and make her like him, she just shrugged at me. I turned back to Brett, who had an expectant expression on his face.
"Can i think about it?" I asked, looking down at the beautiful rose. Brett took a step back from me, i looked back at him, his face had fell into disappointment and was rubbing the back of his neck with his hand. He opened his mouth but closed it again, nodding slowly then walking away. I watched him leave to his table sadly, i didnt want to disappoint him but i really did want to think about it, i didnt want to lead him on.
I sighed, sitting back down, the rose in my lap as i stroked one of my fingers over the soft petals. Then Aimees voice spoke up, "Why did you say that? Did you see how disappointed he looked?" I ignored everyones comments, just staring at the rose.
I sniffled slightly, i felt kinda bad now i said what i did to him. But i couldnt lead him on, only to leave as soon as i finish school. It would hurt him, me, both of us. And i dont know whether i could go through that.

School dragged on and, by the time it had finished, i was ready to pass out. I was sat in the livingroom with the rose Brett gave me, just staring at it. Jenna walked in, sitting next to me.
"Hey Fel" she smiled, looking down at the rose in curiosity, "Who gave you that?" I hesitated on whether to tell her the truth or not. But she had been here most of my life, so i should be able to tell her about this, couldn't i? I mean, this was her son. Would she be okay with it? I sighed, of course she would.
"Brett gave me this rose this morning, asking me on a date tomorrow" i mumbled, fiddling with the petals on the rose.
"Thats nice of him" she grinned but I kept a straight face, she frowned when noticing my expression, "Do you not like my son?" She questioned.
"Of course" i said, still looking at the rose.
"Then whats the problem?" She asked.
"I just, i dont want to start dating Brett and have the possibility it might turn into something big, because im leaving soon, remember? And i never intend on coming back" i stated, she sighed. Jenna gently took the rose out of my hand, placing it on the coffee table, taking my hands in hers so i would look at her. She had a warm smile on her face.
"Felicity, i know you want to find your parents, i get it" she stated, squeezing my hands in hers, "But you cant let that get in the way of your happiness either, im sure your parents would want the best for you. And, putting your life on hold for them, isn't gonna give you the happiness you need" she tucked a strand of hair behind my ear, in a motherly sort of way, "Your only seventeen, you're a teenager that needs to be going out, going to parties, drinking and having fun....but im sure, you doing what you're doing now, just sitting around and moping. Would your parents really want that for you?"
"I guess not" i sniffled, only realising the tears falling now.
"Do you want to date my son?" She asked, looking at me seriously. I hesitated but nodded, "Then go and buy yourself something to wear for tomorrow, and go on that date" she stated, "Holding back and pushing Brett away, isnt going to change his or your feelings, its only hurting the both of you" i nodded, giving her a shy smile.
"I will" i stated.
"Dont hold back for your parents Felicity, this is your life after all" she grinned, i hugged her. She was quick to wrap her arms around me in a motherly hug, i smiled, burying my face in her shoulder as she stroked my back.
"Thank you Jenna" i mumbled.
"You're very welcome Felicity" she said, i grinned, pulling away while wiping my tear stained cheeks and under my eyes, "Now go tell Brett, that you would love to go on that date with him" she laughed, i chukled a little before going up the stairs and to Bretts room. I knocked, hearing a groan.
"Its open!" I heard Bretts muffled voice yell, i opened the door and stepped into the messy room. I walked over to his bed, avoiding everything on the floor, and sat on the edge of his bed. He was led on his front, in sweats and no shirt, his back muscles on full display. His arms wrapped around the pillow that was half covering his face.
"Hey" my voice cracked slightly, Bretts head jolted upwards at hearing my voice, i waved with a weak smile. He instantly sat up, leaning against the headboard, i tried to keep my wandering eyes on his face but it was so difficult.
"Hey" his voice snapped me out of my trance, i looked up to meet his eyes.
"About earlier" i started but couldnt continue due to Brett speaking up before me.
"I get it, you dont feel the same" he muttered, staring at his hands in his lap. I shook my head, laughing.
"That is not what i came here to say" i told him, he looked at me curiously.
"Then what?"
"I just came to accept your invite" i bit my lip, looking at him, "If the offer is still up of course" he grinned so wide at hearing that. He moved closer so his legs were resting behind me and his hand rested on the egde of the bed near my thigh, so he could keep himself up.
I kept stare with him, his face getting closer, just as our lips brushed, i giggled and pushed him away.
"Calm down, we haven't even been on a date yet" i winked, standing up, he groaned.
"C'mon, just one kiss?" He whined, i shook my head and exited his room.
"See ya tomorrow at school" and then i headed out to go find an outfit for our date tomorrow.
