I frantically searched through my messy trunk which was half-empty. Most of my clothes was either on the floor or on my bed, none of them seemed good enough for the date with Draco.
I let out an exasperated groan which turned into a squeal. I picked up the dress slowly. I was pretty sure I had never bought it before.
The fabric was soft to the touch, like silk and the sleeves were lace. I flipped it over and saw that it was open back.
My lips turned into an involuntary smile as I shrugged off my clothes to put on the black dress. I looked at myself in the floor length mirror.
The dress was about mid-thigh, not too short and it seemed to fit perfectly. I was about to go pick the shoes when I found some already on my bed.
They were simple white stilettos and I checked to see what brand they were as to give me a clue to where they were from. I didn't find anything, not even the size.
I put them on but winched as something was inside the shoe. I took off the shoe on my right foot and found a small piece of paper inside.
In beautiful cursive handwriting there seemed to be the lyrics to a muggle song.
Last seen in a Little bLack dress, watch out for those eyes cuz she's dangerous.
I shivered but it had nothing to do with the cold. I thought about who it might be as I put on my makeup but no one came to mind.
I shrugged, thinking it must've been Draco. I went down the stairs with a bounce in my step and found Draco already there in a tux.
He smiled graciously at me and extended his hand which I took. "You look beautiful tonight." He said, kissing the back of my hand.
I let out a giggle and blushed. "As do you."
"Shall we?"
"We shall." He led me out the door of the Great Hall which was thankfully deserted... or at least I thought it was.
In the corner, from behind a pillar, I saw a pair of bright green eyes and when the door opened, a gust of wind came rushing in and I could make out piece of a black dress.
I blinked but when I looked back, they were gone. "Your carriage awaits." I stepped into the carriage which seemed to be pulled by nothing.
I knew this was one of the carriages used to bring us into Hogwarts but this one was closed and seemed new.
It looked like something out of a fairytale. Draco took the seat next to me and I buried my head in his shoulder but jumped up when the carriage started flying.
I looked out the window and watched in amazement as the ground became smaller and smaller.
I glanced at Draco who was looking at me with an amused expression. "Did you notice the dress I am wearing?" I said, indicating towards the skirt.
"It is very pretty. I would've never guessed you owned it." My eyebrows furrowed in confusion. "Didn't you buy me it?"
He shook his head. "It wasn't me. Why?" He said, his face now concerned.
"No reason. I just thought you got it for me is all." I said, forcing myself to smile.
He flashed a set of his pearly whites and looked out the window as we began to descend.
The carriage landed with ease on a narrow cobblestone street lined with shops and restaurants.
I had never been here before but I could tell that it didn't belong to any muggle. You could see the dresses and menus floating around and in one of them, I even saw a couple of sparkles flying around it.
I followed Draco as best as I could but the cobblestone made it hard for me to walk. He noticed and picked me up bridal style.
"Woah Draco! Put me down!" I screamed, laughing. "Are you sure?" he said and I realized my mistake. He was going to drop me.
"No! It's ok! I feel safe in your arms! See! Im perfectly fine. I never have to go down! Never! Never!" I let out a nervous chuckle and he cracked a smile.
He walked at the same pace, as if he wasn't carrying over 100 pounds.
"We're here!" He announced, stopping at the end on the street. He set me down gently and I smoothed out the dress before looking up.
He had stopped in front of what seemed a luxurious restaurant. I smiled at him and we went inside.
"Would you like a table?" A brunette asked us once we entered.
"Nope. Carpet for 2 please." Draco said sarcastically. She glared at him but led us to a table and gave us our menus.
"The waiter will be here to collect your orders in an instant." She sauntered away, leaving us alone.
**********
"Well Draco. That was quite the evening." I said as we walked by the beach. I didn't even know we had beaches nearby.
"My pleasure. Do I get a thank you kiss?" I pretended to think about it for a while just to tease him, our faces mere inches from each other.
"I'm not sure..." I trailed off and suddenly, his lips crashed onto mine.
