I'm up before my alarm starts to beep and before my moms starts to say anything. I smile knowing everything is about to change. Hopefully for the better. I get up and put on my clothes, nothing special, just skinny jeans and a turquoise winged shirt. I'm all ready by the time my parents are making breakfast, which is unusual for me. "Up so soon?" My mom smiles a sad smile at me. "Well of course she is! Man, will we miss you Liberty." My dad looks at me, he doesn't look to happy. "I'm going to miss you guys so much!" Now the tears start to come. I am leaving my family, school, friends, and for what? A power? I don't even know what's going to happen! I don't even know if I will see my family again! No. I will see them again. My parents start to tear up too. "We will miss you so very much, I don't know why we let you try out for a boarding school. How about this? If you try this school for six months and don't like it, you can come back" I smile at my dad. "Sounds perfect." My mom starts talking. "I want a phone call everyday, and you better come visit us every time you can!" I give both of my parents a hug, and Zane and Iz come out too. We have out moments together too, I will miss them so much! The doorbell rings, and Anne walks in and talks to my parents. My final goodbyes are short. Anne and I rush out of my house. "It's good we got you out so fast. Your powers are starting to effect how you look! Same with Brielle and Savanna, but Ella is still pretty normal. We have a long way to go, but you can manipulate the air in a direction so you can fly. You have to be careful though, if you act reckless you could throw off entire weather patterns." I swallow hard. This is already difficult. I start to attempt to fly, but Anne quickly stops me. "First thing you need to know is to not show your powers in public. That little move could have put hundreds of people in danger." Her tone is relaxed, but her body language says otherwise. "Sorry, I will do better. I mean, I'm still pretty new at this whole thing. Also, where are my friends? Shouldn't we have gotten them by now?" She smiles. "We are all meeting at the park, but I wanted to personally speak with you. Liberty, you are the leader of this team. You will have to push your friends to their very best but build them up at the same time. You are the leader because of not only the quality of your powers but your personality. I won't be with you forever, so you have to learn the best things to do. You have to lead the way. Do you think you are capable?" Questions again run circles around my brain but the answer is already apparent. "Yes I will." Anne smiles, and we walk for a couple more minutes until we reach the park. My friends wave at me, and they have their own escorts. I throw a questioning look at Anne. "Oh I almost forgot!" She introduces them. I guess Derrick has super speed, Carlos has super strength, and Binx is a big genius or something like that. Together we are one big group of freaks. I could see how Anne had meant Savanna and Brielle were changing. Savanna's eyes used to be blue and green, but now they seemed like more of a golden brown. Her hair has been cut a whole lot shorter, she has an A-line cut that at it's longest point is at her shoulders. Red streaks have started to weave their way into her hair. Her nails are dark red with orange and yellow spark looking things dancing on them. She looks really different. Brielle is different too, her hair has seemed to have grown to her mid back overnight, and it's royal blue with waves. Her eyes are a less threatening blue shade, a bit lighter. They look like they're moving. Her nails also look in motion, dark blue at the base and fades into light blue at the tips. I want to find I mirror and see what I look like, but I know that there isn't time. We all head into the wooded area just outside of the park. When I'm positive there is nobody around I push myself up. I'm flying! I laugh. "This is crazy! You should all see what it looks like from up here!" Then I get an idea. "Hold on tight to, um, yourself!" I sweep the group up off their feet. A few of the escorts look nervous, but my friends don't seem to care. Nothing so simple could come as a shock to us at the moment. I put everyone down. "Wow Liberty, I didn't have any idea that something like air could be so cool!" Normally, a comment like that would surprise me, but I know Ella is trying to be nice. And plus, I didn't either. "Where are we going? Asks Ella. Anne replys, "A remote island in some proximity to Greenland. Nobody has discovered it because we have a device that makes it look like there is nothing but ocean in the area. Very few normal humans go there, but some have amazing personal traits we like to work with. You will take the easiest route possible, although there is nothing easy about it." She continues walking. I stop along side Savanna, and after a second Brielle and Ella freeze too. Ella sounds nervous. "Um, did you just say you, as in not all of us?" Binx nods. "It would imply so, yes." Anne nods toward her. "You tell her Binx please." She smiles, obviously excited to be addressed by Anne. "It is apparent that you are extraordinary, but we want to be sure that you also have the willpower to get there. Don't worry, it should only take at the most a week, and you shouldn't have to tough of a time. This is the location of the island. There shouldn't be too much trouble." She hands me a chip. I press the button on it, and some quardinates pop up. "Good luck." The four smile. This is already fun.
