Purpose - 5SOS

As I walk into my dance studio I see a poster on a wall. I quickly walk up to it as I see that it says:

'Dance Competition. Winner wins $2000 cash and an entry to World Champs. Sign up before August 12th. Auditions for this competition will be held on June 20th. If you pass auditions you are in the competition. Ask your studio manager for more details.'

I have been dancing ever since my mum died when I was 8 years old. When I turned 14 I started to take it more seriously and entered competitions. When I was 15 I got into one of New Zealand's best dance crews but dropped out because I wanted to be a solo dancer.

The crew broke apart when the leader broke her ankle and another main person in our crew got taken out by their parents.

When I saw the poster I thought about how I have to audition because its such a great opportunity to be noticed and maybe win.

I decided to dit h dancing for the day and went to talk to the manager of the large studio.

I walked into her office and asked about the auditions.

She handed me a booklet with all the information before giving me some advice.

"You will have a better chance of being noticed and remembered if you are in a crew or a pair rather than being a solo dancer as crew dances seem to get more attention." My manager Allison said.

"Okay well I haven't got anybody to go with and I think that I would rather dance alone sorry. But do you think that I would be able to enter?" I questioned.

"Yep, just make sure that you read the booklet to make sure you meet the requirements and I can put you on our list." She replied.

"Okay thank you Ally." I said while starting to walk out.

I just remembered about how I needed to ask if I could change my times that I use the studio as my new job messes up with my dancing times. I quickly turned around before I got through the doorway.

"Also would I be able to change my dance times?" I ask.

"Sure just fill in the sheet and I will try to figure something out." She replied as she handed over a sheet.

I quickly grabbed the sheet and started to walk out the door after saying thanks.

I decided to leave dancing for today and to go home.
