"Dinger do I have to dance tonight?" I asked as I flopped down on his bed when we got home from the SAT's.
"You don't have to, but if you want a happy Dinger then you'll dance with me!" He beamed.
"Dude, my confidence is so low I would probably have a panic attack on the dance floor." I sighed and sat up.
"Come on don't think like that."He said and walked over and sat on the bed beside me. "My dance move will take the attention away from you."He joked and laughed. I rolled over and on top of him. I laid my head on his chest and listened to his soft heart beat.
"I'll dance with you to some slow songs but nothing else." I said and he started to play with my hair.
"I can't dance to slow songs."
"That makes two of us." I laughed. I started getting tired right then and there. I would feel bad falling asleep on him so I rolled to the side with half of me on him and half on the bed. I wrapped my arms around his neck and placed my head on his chest. He began playing with my hair again as I shut my eyes.
Then he said in the most serious voice I think I've ever heard him use, "I love you, Riley." And I drifted off to sleep to the sound of his heart.

I shot my eyes open and looked around. I was still on Dinger. My hand was on his lower stomach and his hand on mine. I looked behind me and Dinger was fast asleep and lightly snoring. His snores were soft and cute; as cute as a snore can get. I lifted my head and his clock read 5:28. I sighed, knowing that I still had to get ready for the dance at 7. "Baby..." I whispered in Dinger's ear. "Dinger I have to go."
"....Why?" He mumbled and wrapped a arm around me.
"The dance is still tonight and I have to get ready."
"I think you look great." He said with his eyes still shut.
"When will you pick me up?" I ask and tug at his hair trying to get him to wake up.
"6:45." He said in a clear voice.
"Thanks." I pressed my lips on his and I felt him smile and open his inviting me in. We kissed for a moment until I got up.
"We should just do that and skip the dance." He smirked and I smiled and playfully rolled my eyes. I walked out of his house and down to mine. I walked into my room and tossed my bag on my bed. I jumped into a hot shower and completed all the necessary things like hair and makeup for a dance. I straightened my hair and wore light makeup. My dress was medium length red and black. I put on black flats and waited at the door for Dinger to arrive. I heard footsteps then a knock on the door. My parents walked over and stood behind me. My mom showed a small smile and my dad had a glare. I pulled open the door and there stood a smiling Dinger in a lovely suit. We both smiled at each other and looked at what the other was wearing.
"So, Dinger." My dad scowled before we could even say hi to each other.
"Hello, sir." He said and stood up straight.
"Why are you dating my daughter?" He asked and Dinger gulped.
"Sir Riley is a beautiful, wonderful person. She means the world to me, I wouldn't hurt her."
My dad just looked at him and my mom 'awed'. "Well Dinger," She started, "I think you and Riley make a... good match." My mom said and looked like she was going to cry.
"Thank you ma'am."
"Well we have to go, I don't know when we'll be back so don't wait up." I said and took Dinger's hand and we walked out the door. I let go because his hands were clammy and sweaty. "We're you that nervous?" I said and wiped my hand on my dress.
"I've never met a girls parents."
"Don't worry, they won't hurt you." I heard him let out a breath of relief. "Well my mom won't...." I smiled and he looked at me in fear.
