Bonjour mon amis!!! Sorry for the late update! Been crazy busy with school and on my weekend I had a huge art project to do.

Listening to Back in Black- AC/DC

I woke up draped in Ezra’s arms. He was warm and smelt like Axe, he breathed lightly, his sleeping face empty of anger or sadness or worry, but just relaxed. It was nice actually, I hadn’t seen him smile in days, and I missed that smile. It was dimly light outside; making me believe it was early still. A glance at the clock on the gray nightstand proved that it was early, 5:08 a.m. I tried to sleep, but like always, sleep never came easily for me. I wiggled my way out of Ezra’s steel grip heading towards the large clear French doors beside the bed, softly grabbing the gold handles on them and slowly pulling them open into dawns first light. I gazed into a dense forest, hunter green trees spreading for acres on end. We were well into a rural area that I’d never noticed before; we were sort of isolated from any major cities. I watched the sun rise, thinking that if we were under any normal circumstances I’d be switching back to my human form right about now. That and I’d usually be saying my good-byes to my sister. I’d never even know that Ezra existed, and it ached to know that.

Over the course of a week, I’d never really thought about how much my life had changed. I’m one of the last of my race of Angel, and trying to save what I could of my people. I’d been to Hell and back, literally. I still didn’t know what was going to happen, the future was still foggy and unclear. I needed my answers and I needed them fast. As I watched the inky sky turn into daylight pink, the peace in it soothed me. Another day, another chance at winning the invisible war we had with Ledger and Hell. Julienne said he had a plan, and though I didn’t like the prospect of working with me after last night, he was the last hope we had. I did worry about how Ezra would react the rest of the time with Julienne though, seeing as he nearly killed him after Julienne had me pinned against a wall. Persephone, last night had left for Heaven, saying she needed to coordinate with the other Angels about Julienne’s plans. Plans I still was unsure of.

I’d been out here for so long, I didn’t hear Ezra stir. He came to the balcony, yawning. His black hair was messily falling across his face. He smiled a lazy smile at me as I turned to face him.

“Morning.” I whispered, trying to smile. He came up, wrapping his arms around my waist; he rested his head on my shoulder.

“Hey.” I said. He chuckled lightly.

“You’re glowing.” He said. I shot him a confused look.

“I meant you were blocking the sun’s rays, it literally looks like your glowing.” He softly laughed.

 “Oh!” I laughed.

“I didn’t hear you get up. When you weren’t there, I got worried.” He added.

“Couldn’t sleep, I came out to get some fresh air.”

“Yeah, I know what you mean.”

We stood in silence for a while.

“I’d love to live here you know. It’s just so quiet and secluded out here.” I whispered. He nodded.

“We could just run away and live out the rest of our lives here. Forever.” He wistfully replied.

“Yeah. If we get out of this alive Ezra, let’s come here.”

“Alive. Evaline, we are coming out alive. I’m making sure of that.”

“I’m just saying if.” I pointed out. He nodded.

“Fine. It’s still early though; let’s get some more sleep while we can. Okay?”  I nodded, and we both walked back inside our room, getting back into the bed. After we settled down, sleep soon overcame me once more.

Once I woke up, it was brighter outside and when I glanced at the clock it read 10:30 a.m. I looked at Ezra, who still slept like a baby. I poked him, and he moaned before getting up. I wasn’t exactly sure about what to do, since Julienne hadn’t really discussed it. So we both headed downstairs to the kitchen, where surprisingly Julienne sat in a black suit, his wings jutting out from his back, the curse for clothes that we all had to bear.

“Good morning to you both.” He said pleasantly. Had he not remembered what had happened last night?

“Uhh, hi.” I muttered, plopping down on a wood chair. I heard Ezra mutter something, his mood already ruined as he stood behind me, watching Julienne’s every move. He was sipping something from a champagne flute.

“Today’s the day Ledger goes down. We have a lot to do, and a lot of arrangements to make.” Julienne continued. “I expect nothing in the near past will be affecting our mission.”

We both nodded very slowly, unsure where Julienne was going.

“Excellent. Then I will pretend nothing happened last night in return.” Julienne replied crisply and emotionless. He walked into the next room and switched on a television, and then walked swiftly back into the kitchen.

“We have a slight problem.” He said.
