Author's Note: This is a quasi-autobiography about my life with Asperger's Syndrome, a mild form of Autism which has crippled my ability to socialize and forced me to think in way that has always made me scratch my head. All the characters are referred to as characters from the TV series Victorious, which I was a big fan of, but are really loosely based on people I can sort of call friends, since I am not sure if they consider me their friend even though we've known each other for a good while (Cat can say the same in here). Anyway here's an introductory to the characters that turn up:
Aspergers!Cat
Stoner!Jade
Depressed! Trina
Raver!Tori
Scumbag!Beck
Andre
Antisocial!Robbie
Contains: Cori, Bat, and Trobbie.
TRINA IS NOT TORI'S SISTER IN THIS STORY, AND JADE NEVER DATED BECK.
---------------------------
My name is Cat Valentine. I'm 17 years old, a junior at Hollywood Arts, I play bass and snare drum, and I have a mild form of autism. I guess my family and I should have figured it out earlier, since I didn't have friends until middle school, I never knew how to start a conversation, couldn't make eye contact, and spent all my time doing things related to "special interests" such as playing music, reading about animals, music, US history, chemistry, and at one time, ancient civilizations. I was diagnosed very recently although we've hand an inkling that something was off for some time. I came home crying everyday because none of these kids understood me, and I could not make a connection with anyone, well, I guess Jade, Trina, and Andre are my friends. Tori and Beck sure aren't because they broke my heart, which we'll talk about later. Robbie's cool, too, but since he broke up with Trina and refuses to get back with her, watching anime porn instead, I haven't said that much to him.
Beck is graduating next year, so I won't have to deal with him, although I see him on Twitter flirting with girls and whining about not getting laid everyday. He's what Jade calls a "manwhore," which is like a woman whore but man. I actually have an IQ of 149, you know, and am in all AP classes here, but since I'm so quirky, everyone assumes I'm dumb. Which is not the case!
I sure hope Jade gets out of alternative school soon; she's been locked in there since....ever. She was caught with alcohol, so I haven't been able to hang with her for a long while. I sure hope she goes back t hanging out with me, but she has another friend named Lucy who she can smoke with. Lucy's a lesbian, which is not strange to me, since I'm bi. After all, I had been in the most bizarre relationship ever with Tori. Tori flunked her freshman year of college, so she went to study cosmetology at some center of technology in LA. Trina is in San Francisco, studying in sociology, getting over her ex, Robbie. Robbie says she's crazy, but she can't get over him. Not too long ago, they were in the same room, and she had a full scale panic attack. It was worse than my episodes.
Andre and I are on HA's drumline. I play snare, and he plays tenor drum. He's next year's drum captain, in fact, which means he's really good. He also plays piano, which is his major instrument, or to use Aspie terms, his "special interest." Andre is NT, though, so the terms don't apply to him the way it does me. My therapist said I had the best motor skills of any Aspie she'd met, since I was I so good at drums and bass.
Anyway, I'm rambling.
"Have you got your music binder?" Andre asked me.
"Of course." I'm looking down at shoes.
"How much you want to bet Mr. D doesn't move Mickey from bass drum over to tenors?"
"It's beyond that."
"What?"
"Mr. D hates mallet players."
The short, wiry blonde man strode out of the office, rubbing his hands together. That's Mr. D, DCI guy and snare lover. "Hey guys! I'm running off new music!!!"
Andre perked up, "Can I see?"
Mr. D grinned wryly. "Nope. Not until next Monday." It was Friday.
I don't know how to segway into the next class, because it's truly boring. The lockers, the crowded hallways full of rowdy sex maniacs (trust me, HA is not only the best high school in California for the Arts, it also beats Stanford University in the wild parties the students throw). One time at an after prom party, Jade was tripping on Ecstasy and jumped, prom dress and everything, into Tori's pool shouting, "I'm a fucking duck! Eat my waterfowl pussy!"
Wait, where was I going with this? I dunno, but the DuckJade story was pretty sweet. Anyway, flashbacks are amazing. I have them a fair bit because I'm "not all there" as my mom says. I think it's best we go to this:
January:
"You sure you're ready?" Beck asked running his hand through his long wavy hair, pants unbuckled, Spongebob boxers displayed.
Cat, in her undergarments alone, nodded.
Beck grasped the knickers and slowly pulled them off. He grabbed Cat, lifting her off her fluffy pink bed, grunting primitively. They'd made out plenty of times before, but this one was particularly steamy: pink tongues rolling around in the shared space that was their mouths. Beck had already began to sweat, and the small droplets gathered at his brow.
He placed the redhead down, hoping her parents would not return to the house to find their Honors student fucking him. "Funny," he thought, "that she's gonna loose it on Martin Luther King Day."
He unbuttoned the Spongebob boxers, allowing his...friend out. He then began to...go to town.
Twenty minutes later.....
"Roll over."
"The hell-?"
"I want to...to..."
As soon as Cat had flipped, Beck exploded. All over Cat's lower back.
"Beck, clean this shit up!" She cried impatiently.
In the end he did, and then he walked completely out of her life, leaving her feeling like a tremendous failure.
