Non-traditional names are any name that isn't considered "traditional." There are basically no rules at all when it comes to non-traditional.

Prefix:

No's:

1. Nothing the cats don't know about, like Cupcakekit or Baconkit isn't allowed. That being said, this is where it gets a bit rocky: what does your clan know about and what don't they know about? Do they know about minerals such as coal, pearls, and salt? For the most part, this is glossed over.

There is no third category. It's just traditional and non-traditonal. Anything else is basically considered not a name. The thing is: some people name their cat something that would be considered a non-name but it's still accepted by others, like using Dragonkit or Halokit or something you'd think 'no' but they think 'pretty.'

Yes':

1.Literally just about anything goes. You can have an action or basically whatever you want that a cat would know about.

Suffix:

No's:

1. There aren't any rules with suffix. If it doesn't make sense, it isn't used. So something like Ambersausage (what even?) wouldn't be used mainly because it doesn't sound as pretty or flowy as something like Ambersong.

Yes':

1 If it makes sense and it isn't a traditional suffix, it is a non-traditional suffix. There are a lot of common suffixes that even I myself use: feather, strike, leap, wing, etc. I've used traditional out of context, like using -eye because it made sense (the cat was named Sharpeye because he had excellent eyesight, but traditionally wouldn't work because the mother wouldn't know the kits skill set at birth.)

That's just about it when it comes to Non-traditional: it's any name that isn't traditional. It also includes odd names by default like Nebulagaze because it could be considered a name, but it's definitely not traditional in the slightest. While traditional names sound more like the clans had strict naming laws, even the Erin's themselves are very non-traditional in their naming with things like Bumblewing, Birchfall, and the horrid SkyClan names. Seriously the SkyClan names are the worst. Billystorm and Frecklewish? Those are the default names that get thrown into this category by default.
