The crisp cold air surrounded Dan, nipping at the exposing skin making him shiver. His usual tan skin turned a shade lighter with a grey tint to it. Being covered in numerous layers of clothes left the bare skin of his face to battle the harsh cold winds, causing his nose to become bright red. He was surprised Santa Claus hadn't yet fly'ed his slay into the empty, rusty park Dan was at and asked him to lead his slay for Christmas.
Dan snickered to himself from the silly and sarcastic thought he had. In those few moments he hadn't realized that the school's most baddest and toughest kid there was standing right in front of him. Staring at him from behind his black fringe with a slight grin, tugging at his lips.
Dan froze, staring up at the intense blue eyes that belonged to the one and only Phil Lester. Phil Lester, the boy who could make your blood run cold just from a stare, make you think that breaking all the bones in your body, be better than him walking even remotely close to you. And here he was, doing exactly both of those things but this was different. Dan wasn't in the hallways of his high school, surrounded by teens and teachers who could potentially save him from getting severely injured by the bright blue eyed boy.
Dan moved his gaze down to his lap, his fringe covering his eyes. Staring into Phil's intense eyes made him sweat and sweat meant his hobbit hair would form again making the hour he spent straight ironing it a waste.
Why was he here? Why is he standing in front of me? I don't think he even knows my name.
"Hello Danny."
Shit. You could practically hear the smirk form on Phil's face as he said that.
What did I ever do? Was it the time in 8th grade when I accidentally made him spill his lunch? Shit. Or the time I stared at him a little too long in Biology class and he caught me? Who am I kidding, I always do that, and not only in Biology. Whenever I get the chance to look at his pale, smooth skin or his bright intense blue eyes, or his ebony colored hair from afar I take it.
"It's Dan. Not Danny." I retorted.
I know what I am. Im a teenager with a death wish.
I peeked up from under my fried fringe to take a glance at the blue eyed and midnight black hair boy. A twinge of shock, relief, and terror filled my veins.
He stared back at me with his eyebrow slightly raised with amusement and that same old grin tugging at his pretty pink lips.
Phil snickered. "Being sassy now are we, Danny Boy?"
"Sassy my arse." I mumbled.
"Now Danny, I would be nice to me if I were you." He said a matter o'factly.
Dan moved his gaze to the rusty slide a few feet away. He huffed out a sarcastic laugh.
"You see those group of boys over there?" Phil said, pointing at the group with a lazy thumb.
Dan glanced to the group of tough looking boys on the other side of the park. Also know as Phil's group of assholes. "Yeah..." Dan whispered slowly.
"Now listen here Danny, and listen closely. You have two options. I could either leave you here to get pummeled to a pulp or... You could come with me and I could keep you from not getting turned into bloody orange juice." Phil leaned in so there faces was only a few inches from each others. Which allowed Dan to see Phil close up and Dan would be lying if he didn't get lost in those damn blue eyes of his.
"Hey Phil! Where the kid at!?" The sound of a rough voice only a few yards away boomed.
"So Danny. What will it be?" Phil whispered in Dan's ear making a shiver run through Dan's body. He could feel the warm breath cascade to his neck slightly and Phil's soft hair brush against his flustered cheeks.
Too much was happening. Dan could hear the loud steps of the group getting closer and Dan knew he had to make a decision. Quick. Dan stood up from the squeaky swing and bolted down the pavement as fast as his skinny jeans would let him. He knew he was in some deep shit. Now Phil and his group of dickheads were after him. Dan ran through a short cut he learned when he was younger and found himself at his high school.
Dan stopped running in the middle of the rundown football field to catch his breath. His hobbit hair reforming from the sweat glistening on his forehead. He stood there for a moment, filling his lungs with oxygen. Dan began to limp across the field, preparing himself to walk another five blocks to his house. Dan made it off the field and towards the back of the school till he was abruptly shoved into the school's shed, falling onto his hands and knees. He didn't even get to register what was going on till the shed door was being closed and he was being roughly pulled up to stand by his forearm. A cold hand covered Dan's mouth, muffling all sounds. The shed was small. Only allowing three full grown people in here, four at the most.
"Are you trying to get killed?" The voice that belonged to the cold hand said with slight frustration. "You'll thank me later." He huffed.
Phil.
All you could hear in the shed was the heavy breathing and slight shuffling as Dan and Phil watched through the crack in the door. They stood like that for what seemed like forever and Dan was about to tear off the death grip around his mouth till he heard angry shouts and profanities from across the field. Them.
"I know your here somewhere!" and "Tell us where the boy is Phil!"
"Don't you dare make a sound." Phil threatened.
Dan froze not daring to move as he and Phil watched the boys get closer, searching.
"Where the hell did Phil go?" One of them said.
"He better not be helping that wanker." Another one of them growled.
"Let's keep going, they probably ran off towards the cafe."
"Once I find that little dipshit he's going to be dead meat."
They walked off and once there footsteps couldn't be heard I let out the breath I had been holding. Me and Phil stood there for a moment, our hearts beating rapidly till Phil slowly removed his death grip to turn me around harshly and pin me to the wall.
"Now you listen here Danny. I don't normally spend the time and energy to save people from getting there arses beat from my group of meatheads, you got that? Neither would I normally risk myself from getting a pounding or two just so I could save yours." He whispered harshly. Dan stared back with wide eyes. A pinch of warmth spread through his body. Was it because of the nonexistent space between them or the idea of that maybe somewhere in another universe, Phil actually cared about the lonely brown haired boy.
"Thank you." Dan managed to whisper as he drowned in the intense blue eyes which belonged to the one and only, Phil Lester.
