Celestial Knights: Runaways

Chapter 2

Inec hacked and slashed his way through hordes of Knights. There are just too many for the Sanctuary's defenders to handle. Inec's energy had began to be drained. He's been fighting for almost a whole day now. Zarchinox has been lending energy, but is still making sure that the Knights don't make it to the temple on Earth. 

"Where's the valuable leader of the Dragovians at?" he hears a familiar voice.

Most of his army has either been killed or captured and the Knights stopped fighting holding some of his army captive.

"Namaru!" Inec shouts and jumps over a wall of Knights, "It's been a while."

"Ten years I believe." Namaru stayed calm and collective, "I'm here to enslave your people and conquer the universe. You can try to stop me, but you won't win."

"We'll see about that!"

Inec darts forward and slashes at Namaru. Namaru smoothly dodges. He's faster than he was years ago. Namaru throws a punch at him and Inec feels searing pain in his face. Namaru must be confident if he thinks he can win without using a blade. He's wrong! Inec retaliates and slams Namaru to the ground. Namaru kicks out and sends Inec flying. He lands in a destroyed building slamming into its wall. Furious, Inec digs himself out of the wall and sprints for Namaru. He gets out a wind sword and slashes at Namaru. He connects, but only barely. Namaru dodged, but not in time. Blood splattered the ground. It was just a thin slice. Namaru looked furious and started slashing and punching at him. Inec parried each blow and tried to counter when he could, but Namaru parried his blows as well. Every now and then, Inec would feel pain and blood running down his body. Namaru had the same troubles. Finally, Inec found an opening and kicked Namaru in the chest sending him skipping off the ground and landing in the fountain. The fountain crumbled around him. Namaru pushed the stones off of him and stands up out of breath and blood running down his face.

"Bring out the prisoners!" Namaru commands.

Inec takes the moment to rest and take deep breath. When he looks up, he sees Undine being held to the ground with a sword pointed to the back of her head.

"Give up and we might let her live." Namaru smiles devilishly.

"Don't listen to him Inec!" Undine shouts from the ground, "He'll kill us all!

"Shut up!" Namaru kicks Undine in the side, "You're in no position to talk!"

Inec watched in horror as Namaru keeps kicking Undine in the side. Furious, Inec walks up to Namaru and stands face to face with him.

"I'll shred you until nothing is left!"

Inec grabs Namaru's arm that has the armband and summoned a strong wind. Namaru's arm began to disintegrate. Namaru screamed in agony. Inec hopes that he can kill Namaru right here and now! By the time Namaru's arm is gone, Namaru kicks Inec in the gut and sends him flying. Inec lands on his feet and looked at Namaru. The proud warrior is on his knees holding where his arm should be. A pool of blood surrounded him. 

"What are you standing around for?" Namaru looks at his men, "Capture him!"

The Knights step forward ready to strike. Inec flashes forward with blinding speed and grabs Undine. She coughs as he picks her up. She holds her sides where Namaru kicked her. Inec transforms into a dragon and flies away from the Sanctuary.

Namaru watched as his arm disintegrates. The pain is unimaginable. He stopped Inec with a strong kick in the gut. His men didn't capture him and allowed the prisoners to escape. 

"Get me another arm NOW!" Namaru shouts in pain.

Night comes and the doctors are working on his arm as quick as possible. He's going to need to get used to having the armband on his other arm. The pain as the armband came disconnected was worst than losing his arm. It won't be long until they march onto Earth.
