"You... What?" Kevin whispered to me in a state of shock, trying not to yell through the phone. I was on the verge of crying, mostly from shock. "I.. I killed him, as a wolf." He went quiet, sighing through his nose in a dramatic manner. "You changed too, huh?" I blinked many times, trying to see if I heard his words correctl. Too? Did he change also? "Yea... Why?" I managed to say, hearing the pause in his voice as he gathered his own words to speak. "Kylie, you weren't the only one who changed into... A wolf." I furrowed my eyebrows together, pulling the phone from my ear to see if I were hearing things. ".. What?" He sighed once more, I could hear the slight fear in his tone as he spoke. "Not only did it happen to me, it happened to Kaitlyn and Keenan, too." I cursed softly and shook my head, looking down at the blood stain on the floor. "We need to talk, all of us... Meet me by the forest in fifteen minutes... Tell Kaitlyn and Keenan too."

With a soft 'See you there', I hung up the phone and forced myself to chuckle at this entire event. I just had to laugh, for once a spell actually worked, and not only did it work on me. It worked on my closest friends also. I ran up stairs and pulled on some sweatpants, a jacket, and some old sneakers. If I were to leave, I'd have sneak out somehow. You see, being fifteen and an African American girl wasn't exactly a good combination when going out at night. I slid my window open and kicked the screen out quietly, catching it before it dropped to the ground. With this new power pumping through my veins, I decided to test them out and jumped through the open window, miraculously landing on my feet. I slowly stood up and began to laugh quietly, looking around before jogging into the thick canopy of trees that lead to the forest.

I brushed away stray branches and twigs, not exactly wanting to get hit in the face. My phone buzzed three times, making me stop and fish it out of my pocket. I read the messaged carefully and nearly smiled to myself. They were all here and ready to talk this out, I heard their voices ring out from the trees and cleared my throat loudly to get their attention. "What the hell are you guys just standing here for? We have an entire forest to ourselves right now." Of course they exchanged glances and frowned, clearly not getting my vision. "Ky. We didn't want this shit, man." Kevin muttered, adjusting his jacket for a brief moment and that's where I got a little offended. "Well I did... Aren't y'all tired of being talked about, humiliated, and downgraded?" They all slowly nodded their heads, thinking about the situation more clearly.

"Like here's my idea, now is our chance to be something greater... Something feared by everyone, where we can be who we want to be." I could see their faces change into a smile, nodding their heads as I started to walk into the forest with a false laughter of evil. "Come, dwell into the dark with me." I teased, hearing them follow me as I slowly spun around and stopped, tilting my head at them. "Hey.. What do you guys say about shifting? It'll be fun." I coaxed, seeing them all exchange weird glances at each other and then back at me with smiles of amusement. "Hell yes!" Kaitlyn exclaimed, grabbing me by the hand to run off into the forest with loud laughter. Kevin and Keenan exchanged weird glances at each other and shrugged, running after us. We ended up in a wide open field, the moon shining brightly and we were truly estatic to be free; wild and running so freely.

That alone sparked the change, and before we knew it... We were all wolves, running free with the wind brushing through our fur. We sprinted through the grass quickly, jumping and barking with excitement. As the night grew on, we all stood in a circle and looked at each other, our golden eyes inspecting each other before I lifted my head and emitted a low, melodic howl. The others followed after, our eyes closing as the howls rang up into the sky in perfect harmony.
