I shut the door behind me and went down the stairs to the dinning room. My dad was just sitting down at the table when I walked in. "Hey! How'd you sleep?" He asked. "I slept fine." If I even slept at all. I thought. I took my place at the table. Shortly after Mom walked into the room and then breakfast was served. We all ate in silence and when we were done I brought my plate to the kitchen and went back upstairs.
"Hey," I strolled though the door. I didn't see Sander but I knew he was there. I walked around the room stopping at the closet. The door was closed. I looked under the crack in the door and saw a dim light coming from under. I twisted the knob and opened the door. I shut it back behind my entrance.
"Hey Elizabeth." Sander said without looking up from what he was doing. He was bent over my suitcase studying it intently. "How'd you get in here? I thought you needed stuff to be opened in order for you to get though things." I walked around him to open the bag for him, pulling out the chest. I shivered. Is this what you're looking for? He nodded answering my thought out question. Then he passed though the door.
I stood there for a second with my mouth gaped open slightly. I closed it then cleared my throat. Of course he could do that he was a ball of glowing energy. "Are you coming out of there any time soon?" He stuck his head though the door. I nodded and he left, I opened the door. "How come you couldn't have done that last night?" I demanded. "Because it was a lot easier to ask you to open the door than to just go though it. I didn't want raise anymore of your observations with your constantly growing questions. We were running out of time last night." He was standing right in front of me his hand in his pockets.
"Speaking of which, you need to answer my questions I asked you last night."
"Right, ok shoot."
"Are you going to lie to me when I ask?"
"Have I ever lied to you before?"I didn't answer him. He already knew the answer. Of course he never lied to me; he was really the only person I could trust with anything. The only person I could talk, and the only person I had known for as long as I could remember who knew everything I'd ever thought about.
"Okay. You owe me an explanation on how you go here." I said. I sat on the floor leaning my head against the closet door waiting. I wrapped my hands around my legs pulling them to my chest. "Um... I'm not sure... I don't know how I got here." He started. I looked at him quizzical. "What do you mean, 'I don't know?' You said you'd explain." He sighed. I could tell he was a bit confused. "I don't know how I got here as in I should not be here until your birthday..." My birthday? "What's so special about my birthday?" He came to stand beside me.
"I wasn't supposed to be around here, be able to be in this world yet, be able to talk to you other than in thoughts. I remember this from a long ago." His seemed to be caught deep in thought. "A long time ago? Then how old are you really? When where you born? What year was it when you died?" I shot off rapidly. "I'm nineteen years old. I was born in 1716. But I guess my accurate age would be," he paused to think, "about 295 years old. I didn't die; I'm very much alive, separated from my body is all. But to answer your question, well I guess you could somewhere around 1735."
"Hum your not dead, you almost 300 years old but your still nineteen and you popped out of my mind. Am I missing anything else?" I asked. "You're missing a whole lot more actually. But I can't explain it now, not until you know everything else." I started to ask him what but he held up his hand and continued. "If I tell you now, you might not believe me or it would probably be confusing. Like you're kind of confused now with the new information I've just given you." I nodded. He was probably right and I couldn't hide my confusion from him since he knew everything about me.
"Next question?" I asked. "Shoot." I thought for a second and then began "Okay, well if I didn't make you up then how did you come to me in my thoughts?" He rubbed his chin before he began. "I've been with you since the day you were born. I'm with you because I came here to protect you. I know it's a little confusing but it's a condensed version of everything. I'll explain everything after you go fine everything what needs to be found."
"Okay well one more question. Have you been influencing my thoughts?" I tucked my legs under me so that I was sitting on them. He laughed quietly. "Not at all. I merely listened to you and commented when necessary. The only time I actually influenced your thoughts was to give you a heads up on what was coming, nothing more nothing less. Like I warned you about this manor you were to visit soon." I nodded slowly taking in the information. "Interesting." I finally said. I rose to my feet. I felt the blood rushing to them. "So what's the other information I need to get before you start explaining everything else to me?" He rose to his feet and said, "For that information you need to go underground."
