The rest of the day passed uneventful and slow. By the time the time night came everything became a little more animated. It was long past dinner, and I had it sent to my room, and it was close to midnight. I had already taken my shower and was sitting in bed thinking. Sander was beside me reading one of the five text books that I had brought along with me so I could complete my homework assignments. "Well today was boring." I said after a while.
"Tell me about it." Sander said shutting the book. "I text Mark earlier today." Sander raised his eyebrow. "Really? What did he want?" I shrugged. "Nothing really. He just wanted to know if we could reschedule our training session."
"Huh really? And what did you tell him?"
"I asked him when and he said tomorrow. I haven't replied back to him yet." I looked at Sander. He had a little glint of amusement in his eyes but his face was serious. "Won't your parents be here again tomorrow though?" He asked.
"Yes, but he offered to do the training at his house. That's part of the reason I didn't reply back to him." I said slowly. "What are the other reasons that you haven't replied?" He asked. "I'm not sure how I'm supposed to get there and I don't know him well enough to just drop by his house."
"Hum, that's a fair enough answer. Text him back and tell him you will consider it." He bobbed his head toward my cell phone. I got up and text Mark. A part of me hoped that he was still up, and another part of me hoped that he had gone to bed for the night.
I brought the phone back to the bed placing it on my lap. A few seconds later the phone bussed and I read Mark's message. "He said 'fine'. Well I guess that settled." I put the phone back in my bag and tucked myself in. "Well I guess I'm going to bed." I yawned and then stretched. "Alright. Talk to you in the morning." Sander floated off the bed, flicked off the bedrooms light, and sat against the bedroom's main door.
I was awaked a couple hours later there was a quiet rapping sound at my window that sounded like small rocks being thrown at it. I rubbed my eyes groggily, got up and then pulled the curtains back where the sound was coming from. I didn't see anything so I lifted the window and peered out. Slowly a figure started to take shape.
"Ah, finally." I heard a faint voice say. "Mark?"
"Yeah it's me."
"You do know it's about three in the morning right?" I called down to him, angrily. "Yea I know. That's why I came."
"How did you know which room is mine?"
"Trial and error. Then when I got tired of guessing I cast a spell to find you." He said. That didn't surprise me; his answer seemed to fit my theory almost perfectly. "What do you want?" He didn't answer but instead a blue light shot up from where he was standing and then he was at my window. I leaned back automatically.
"Training. I could tell you were worried about it so I decided to come early so you would get in trouble." I shook my head. "You could have called or something to let me know." Mark climbed through the window. "Too conspicuous. If I had of done that then you would have definitely opposed to the idea last night." He sounded smug. I raised my eyebrow even though I knew he was right. I would have rejected the idea. "Where Sander at? He's always around you." Mark commented.
"He's not always around me. And I don't know." I narrowed my eyes and crossed my arms. "Right. Ok well let's go, we got a long list of stuff to do."
"Who said I was coming? Just because you brought yourself over here doesn't mean I have to follow you." I turned away from him and climbed back into bed sitting up. "I'm going back to sleep, thank you very much." I dramatically fell onto my pillows with a huff, and shut my eyes. I rolled over so that my back was to Mark. "We all know you're not going to sleep. You have been waiting to practice and now Mark is here and you're just putting on a show." Sander whispered into my free ear. I opened my eyes. "No I wasn't."
