Her.
My heart sunk with the lost opportunity to meet someone famous. I couldn't believe I had just been sitting next to the guy who was staring out at me from the large poster which stole the attention from the store. Grace was still laughing with disbelief, I wasn't sure how to feel. "That's ridiculous," I murmured, disbelieving.
"How you didn't have a chat with him is beyond me! Even if I didn't know who he was I'd of found any reason to talk to him, he's gorgeous," Grace fangirled.
"So you listen to 5sos?" I asked laughing at her dream like state.
"Yeah, I mean I'm not all over them religiously but I'm a fan of their music. This is Ashton, Michael and Luke," she explained pointing to the rest, as my eyes quickly scanned them, "if anyone was going to come into the store I assumed it would be Luke, that's what Rose tells me anyway,""Does rose have long red hair?" I asked, connecting the pieces of the puzzle.
"Yeah? Do you know her?" Grace replied.
"Well the first time I went to the coffee shop she told me how excited she was 5sos were back in town. I can't believe we saw one of them, I feel so bad," I answered thinking of her face sinking in disappointment.
"No don't worry about it, she's met all of them. She goes to anything 5sos related she can, she'll be excited more than anything," reassured Grace reading my concerned expression. The fifteenth buzz of my phone brought me back to a sudden realisation I needed to get home. "Oh shit," I mouthed.
"What?"
"I need to get home!" I replied rushing around myself looking for my bus pass.
"Want a lift? I'm learning and my cars around the corner," said Grace casually.
"Wait if you're learning how do you have a car already? Don't you need an experienced driver with you?"
"Well yeah probably but how am I supposed to learn if I have to keep asking someone to hop in too," she grinned, "Do you drive?"
"Yeah I do but I don't have a car,"
"There we go that's sorted, you're my designated driver, cmon," she replied as if she had given closure to my concerns.Leading me back to a side road near the coffee shop we came across a small car park with signs signifying what shop the staff cars belonged to. In the middle a stylish beige Fiat 500 sat beneath the coffee shop sign "Coffee Bean House". From what I knew of Grace, this must've been hers. Leading me over and unlocking the door she began explaining about the car, "It's an automatic and my mum keeps going on at me how I need to learn manual- and I am but I couldn't get my hands on a good enough deal for a manual car and well - when I saw this beauty I had to have it," sliding into the driver seat, I followed suit and sat in the comfortable light leather seat.
"Yeah I drive manual, I miss my car," I said sadly.
"Well you can drive this some time if you want," Grace replied happily. I knew she meant it.
"Haha, I hope I don't have to on this journey home," I laughed.
"Hey, it's an automatic it's like driving a go kart, trust," she winked starting the engine.Running up the drive, I turned back waving at Grace who pulled off the curb and headed for her own home. Clutching my phone, having just saved Grace's number, I slid it back in my bag and looked for my keys. Before they had even touched the lock, the door was open and James was looking down at me.
"So where were you? Didn't you have time to reply to my texts?" He asked, a little too calmly.
"I'm so sorry! I ended up meeting this english girl Grace and we hung out for a bit and I lost all sense of time!" I rushed making myself seem more suspicious than I was.
"Oh I see. Dinners on the table by the way, I haven't eaten mine yet. Thought id wait for you," he replied a little quietly. I felt a pang of guilt and immediately stood on my tip toes to kiss him on the lips. Before they had reached him, his face had turned and he had already reentered the house.Confused to whether I deserved that, I decided to forget feeling guilty and just act normal. "Thanks for preparing this," I said lightly, "Keith and Mary not in?" I asked.
"No, they're out for dinner tonight with Julie and Dave," he replied sitting down and swigging his glass of wine.
"Oh okay so we have the house to ourselves for a bit," I concluded, a hint of cheekiness in my voice.
"Yeah, well you do,"
"What do you mean?"
"I'm off out this evening, Stephen and the boys wanna head to the pub for a bit so I thought if I made you dinner and we had it together, I wouldn't of felt so guilty about leaving you. But I guess that plan failed as I have to leave in a bit," James eyes hit mine, I couldn't decide whether they were the trying to make me feel guilty or he was angry.
