It was a gloomy, cloudy and rainy day. The streets were all dark, the floor was wet and slippery. Children played in the puddles as they wore thier little rain coats. The streets were packed with cars, causing a lot of traffic. For Brenda, this was just another ordinary day. She walked home from her job as a cash register in one of the finest market places in the city of Los Angeles. Brenda did her regular routine that she did everyday since she started working. The rain trickled on her black umbrella as she walked to the donut shop she always goes to after work. The white beanie she wore brightened her outfit as she walked pass by neighbors and strangerd. Her light brown hair lied straight on her shoulders as her black highlights flowed from her face as she walked fighting against the cold air. She still wore her uniform from work under her large black fancy jacket and black boots.

Working a four hour shift was easy for Brenda since she was used to it, so she rewarded herself with a chocolate fudge covered donut with a large coffee.
The bell rang as she opened the door and entered the little shop.

"Hey Brenda, how's it been?" Carl, the cash register, greeted kindly. "I'm good today. The rain surprised me a bit but other than that, I'm good." Brenda said and gave a warm smile as she took out her gloves and closed the wet umbrella. Carl smiled and watched Brenda take off her gloves. "The usual?" Carl asked as he walked to grab a paper bag.

"You know me." She smiled and took out some money from her front pocket.

"That will be $2.50." Carl smiled and gave Brenda the paper bag and the coffee. Brenda nodded her head and sat at the same table she always settled in, near the window. She took a small bite of her donut and took a sip of the coffee, letting the hot liquid slither down her throat. She pulled the cup from her face and looked out the window. Something caught her eye the minute she turned her head.

There was a strange black SUV that was parking right in front of the Auto Zone store. Brenda had never seen that car before. A strange man was sitting in the drivers seat and watched as people passed by into the donut shop. The man watched women go in and out. He watched Brenda eat her donut and drink her coffee. Her eyelashed battered quickly as she drank her coffee and looked out the window.

Brenda was a bit uncomfortable with the stranger watching from a distance. She got up as soon as she finished and threw her trash in the left trashcan next to the exit; the bin where she always threw her trash.

She took the last sip of her coffee and threw it also in the bin and left, grabbing her umbrella. "Goodbye Carl. Thanks again." Brenda waved and opened the door. Before Carl was going to say goodbye, Brenda had already left.

The bell rang again as she left the shop quickly without letting Carl say a word. She opened her umbrella as the rain poured harder. The loud noises of the rain trickling down on the roofs of the buildings and her umbrella annoyed Brenda a bit but she ignored it and continued to walk back home.

She passed by the Auto Zone shop and stopped at the stoplight that was close to the stores. She waited patiently as the cars passed by and looked around, admiring the wet streets and gloomy morning. The light turned green a minute later, signaling Brenda to go cross the street. She walked a block away from the store and made a left.

On the other hand, as Brenda turned, the black SUV had been slowly following Brenda everywhere she had been going. The driver was slick, strong and handsome but Brenda didn't know who he was. Brenda finally made it to the block where her home was at. The SUV drove faster and passed Brenda as she walked, looking down at the ground.
The man got out of the car as soon as he found parking. He cracked his fingers and put on his black jacket that reached up to the top of his shins. His boots clicked as he walked down the street and on the sidewalk. He watched Brenda walk closer to him. She wasn't paying attention to where she was going so it was an easy plan for the stranger to get close to her. As they got closer, the man stood right in front of Brenda, causing her to bump into him.

"Oh dear, I'm sorry." She gasped and looked at the man. His blue oceanic eyes scanned her from head to toe and nodded his head as he walked away without saying a word. Brenda gave a confused look and shrugged her shoulders as she continued to walk. She hummed a song as she walked away from the man, who turned around and watched her walk. He slowly walked behind her and followed her home. He heard her humming a familiar song as she skipped. He smirked and hid behind a tree as she spinned around and continued to hum. He watched from afar as she walked up to the front of her home and picked up the newspaper.
She unlocked the door and closed her umbrella, shaking the water off of it. She took off her beanie and gloves and ran her hand through her hair, that smoothly ran behind her back. She left her umbrella outside and walked inside her home, closing the door behind her.

The man walked back into his car and closed the door after he got in. He pulled out a portfolio and opened it, revealing the information of Brenda.

"Brenda Davis." He smirked and looked at the picture that he had of her.

"Beautiful..."
