Dear Annabelle
Constant as the stars above
always know that you are loved
With all my love: Your mother

That is all she has left of her beloved mother. Those words written on the back of a photo taken years ago, when her mother was still with her. When she could still hold her in her arms...

Now Annabelle is living with her aunt, uncle and their horrible son who does anything in his path to tease her. In the beginning Annabelle told her aunt and uncle and they just laughed it off, saying that their son, Dean, was just playing and that she should stop complaining.
Annabelle stopped and Dean continued, everyday having something new to say. Until one day when he took it to far.

Annabelle was coming home from school one day, when she walked into her room Dean sat on her bed looking at the photo she has been keeping safe for so many years. Annabelle froze with fear.

"So-so Anna, what else have you been hiding from me? Silly that you thought I wouldn't find it." Dean sat there with an evil expression on his face, feeling pleased with what he found.

"Leave that Dean, that's all I have of my mother! Please..." Annabelle was petrified. Who knows what Dean will do with that picture. He has no heart!

"What if my hand just slipped..." Dean mimicked the tearing of Annabelle's beloved picture.

"NO! DEAN! PLEASE..." Annabelle started crying. "Please, I'll do anything. Just don't tear it!"

"On one condition..." Dean looked pleased with the reaction he has caused. He was hoping for this.

"Anything!" Annabelle was desperate. She loved that picture more than anything in the world.

"You will do my homework for the rest of the year and if the is a single answer wrong... I think you get it" He walked up to where Annabelle was standing, looking petrified.

"Yes." That is all she said. That is all she could say. He had the power to tear up that picture and believe me he would. He is horrible.

"Good", he tore the picture halfway and threw it on the floor. "Have a nice day!" Annabelle sank do the ground and grabbed the picture almost before it fell to the ground.

She closed the door behind her and sank to the floor. How could he do this. She struggled to get through her own work and now she had to do his as well.

She looked at the picture, her mothers smiling face. It comforted her. She stood up wiped her tears away and decided that enough was enough.

She went to her desk and selleotaped the picture together again. She packed her belongings, the little that Dean didn't destroy, and sneaked out of the house...
