We all know the term "lol." We also all know that it is never literal. No one who says "lol" is really laughing out loud.
However, as I sat there and scrolled through luke-warm-coffee's blog, I was actually lol-ing.
I laughed so hard, and so much, that my throat ached. Eventually I had to stop reading, because I was worried that my parents might hear and think I was crazy.
I was slightly astonished that the blog wasn't more popular than it was, honestly. It was far funnier than a lot of famous blogs I'd seen.
After about ten minutes of scrolling, I had learned a few things:
1. The owner's name was Luke.
2. He had very good taste in music (much like my own, actually).
3. He loved Harry Potter.
4. He watched Doctor Who.
and
5. He had a Twitter.Naturally, me being the stalker I am, I went and followed him. Like his blog, his Twitter was not nearly as famous as it should have been.
After a couple of minutes, I got a notification: he had followed me back.
Seeing as my throat still hurt from laughing, I figured he deserved a message.
@heather_the_feather: is it weird that while i read your tumblr posts i laughed so hard that people probably thought I was insane?
Before I could second-guess myself, I went ahead and hit send. As soon as I did, I regretted it. Oh, God, I thought. He probably thinks I'm a stalker or something.
A few minutes later, I got another notification; a message, actually.
@lukewarmcoffee: not at all! 😂 thank you!
Before I could respond, I got another message.
@lukewarmcoffee: wait
@lukewarmcoffee: is this your blog?
He sent a photo of my blog a few seconds later.
@heather_the_feather: yeppp
About a minute passed.
@lukewarmcoffee: i must say: you have quite good tastes in music.
I smiled to myself.
@heather_the_feather: you're stalking me, aren't you?
@lukewarmcoffee: ...
@lukewarmcoffee: ...
@lukewarmcoffee: ...
@lukewarmcoffee: ...maybe.
@lukewarmcoffee: OMG
@lukewarmcoffee: HOLY SHIT
@lukewarmcoffee: YOU LIKE HARRY POTTER TOO?!?
@heather_the_feather: yES
@lukewarmcoffee: ASDFGHJKL
@lukewarmcoffee: WHY ARENT WE BEST FRIENDS
@heather_the_feather: I DONT KNOW
@lukewarmcoffee: WE'RE BEST FRIENDS NOW OKAY?
In my head, a scene from The Fault In Our Stars played in my head, and I smiled a little.
@heather_the_feather: OKAY.
