She pushed me down onto the ground. My skirt was now covered in mud as she and her minions laughed at me. Tears were on the verge of running down my cheek, but I bit my cheek.

"that's what you get, you freak." she shouted as she laughed again.

Her and her clique walked away laughing as I cried. I just broke down there, not caring who was watching me.

"Are you okay?" I heard a soft boy's voice say.

I looked up and saw a boy I think was named Cameron? He seemed nice, and he totally wasn't a stranger. So why not accept his help.

"Not really, I could really use a hand though." I said.

He offered his hand and I quickly took it. I smiled at him and dusted off the dirt on my skirt.

"Thank you, Cameron." I told him.

"No problem, Jennifer." He smiled.

"Want to eat lunch with me?" He told me with hopeful eyes.

Come on, man. How could I say no?

I nodded and followed him.

He held my hand as we entered the lunch room once again.

I hid my face as I spotted Sarah and her little group.

"Oh my god! Cameron's mine!"

"She's a freak!"

"Ew, what the heck?"

I was surrounded by mean comments. I just wanted to dig a hole and bury myself in it.

"Don't worry about them, okay? They're just peanut butter and jealous." He said causing me to laugh loudly.

"Your laugh is really pretty." He told me with a boyish grin.

After a few minutes if walking, we finally stopped at a table. It was empty, wierd. I supposed he was popular. Yikes!

"Want anything?" He asked.

"Yes, but may I come with you?"

"Sure, on one condition."

"Which is this condition?" I asked suspiciously.

"If you stop talking to me like that."

I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion.

"Like what?"

"Like I was your dad or mom." He laughed.

"Oh. So you want me to stop being polite?"

"Exactly." He smiled before grabbing my hand once again.
