I wasn't expecting anyone to come and congratulate me.

I wasn't expecting anything at all.

My brother was in England with his fiancé on vacation.

My parents were on a buisness trip to Hawaii.

It would be impossible for them to come to my graduation.

It hurt, honestly.

Not being able to hug someone and cry into their shoulder as you completed a major task in life.

I was alright though.

It wasn't their fault that they couldn't come.

I was completely fine with that, but I wasn't at the same time.

I stayed seated as other graduates greeted loved ones.

Tears were threatening to spill, but I blinked them away.

Something caught my eye.

More like someone.

My brother.

I stood up and placed my hand over my mouth.

Tears were streaming down my face.

My brother was here.

I ran over to him and hugged him tightly.

He was here. He was really here.

"Kevin." I whispered.

"You came." I whispered once again.

"I came, baby sister." He said with a million dollar smile.

I hugged him again. I wanted to enjoy this moment while it lasted.

"I missed you, Jenni. Alot." He released from the tight embrace.

"I missed you too, Kev." I laughed soon to be joined by another familiar voice.

"Aw, man. Sucks to know you didn't miss us." I heard a voice say from behind me.

No, no, no. This is too good to be true.

I turned around and saw the last person I was expecting.

More like people.

My fucking parents were here.

I kneeled down and just cried.

This was too good to be true. Too fucking good to be true.

"Aw, Jenny. Don't cry, baby." I heard my mother say softly.

"This is too good to be true." I said gently.

"Aren't you going to hug me?" She said.

Before anyone could say anything, I pulled my mother into a tight hug.

"Mom." I cried into her shoulder.

"Jennifer." She whispered while stroking my hair.

"I missed you so so much." I cried once again.

"I missed you too, baby girl." She whispered.

"Now go on, hug your father." She said pulling away from our hug.

"Daddy." I cried while running up to him.

He picked me up and hugged me tighter.

"My baby is all grown up. Next thing you know, we're going to have grandchildren running around our house." He laughed as he pulled away.
