you are silent.
you are silent because
the walls can talk.
your mother used to tell you that
if walls could ever talk,
the world would be a place of truth . . .
but today the walls
had looked you and said,
"ugly."
the day before that they said your
v-neck hung too low;
its exact words being,
"no one wants to see that."
the only downfall is that you believe it;
you believe every word of it.
because you know
that these walls only speak
words of truth.
after all, that's what your
mother told you.so you stay silent.
