Averys POV
"So let me get this straight. You've never been on a roller coaster?" Ace laughed at me.
"No. I've never had the... Luxury," I stated staring out the window of the restaurant.
"Hey.." He said placing his hand on my chin. "What's going on in that beautiful head of yours?"
I looked at him. He was looking at me. Into my eyes. At every flaw on my face and yet I didn't feel exposed. I was comfortable with everything that has to do with him.
"There's just something that's been bothering me," I began to say and he positioned himself in his chair so that he was only facing me.
"What Ruby said the other day before she walked out of your house." I paused a while to hear his reaction. But he didn't say anything he just relaxed and sat back. "Doesn't it worry you or something?"
"Babe. What she said doesn't matter she's not in that stuff anymore. We have nothing to worry about.." He said holding my hand but I became more confused. "What stuff?" I said pulling away.
He looked at me confused and then finally realized I really had no clue what he was talking about. He sighed and scratched his head. "Ok," he leaned in and whispered. "Ruby was in some serious shit a while back. She used to run with some fucked up people." He paused to look around which I assumed was to make sure no one was listening.
"But last time I heard she got out. Well she found a way. But you shouldn't worry baby I would never let any thing happen to you." He said while caressing my cheek.
"Wait you ran with them too?" I asked moving his hand from my face.
He took a deep breathe and sighed. "Not really. I was never IN the... well you know. I just did some favors for them and people know not to fuck with me."
I was lost. This whole time I thought I knew Ruby and Ace but it turns out I never really knew anything.
"But babe that's not me anymore I'm out," he said trying to reassure me.
"Even if it was still you it wouldn't matter," I said and kissed his hand. "I'm with you through whatever."
He took my hands in his and pulled them to his cheeks and then kissed them. "God. I swear you don't know how much I love you." He whispered.
"Let's get out of here," he said and we stood up. We walked hand in hand towards the entrance. As we walked out he kissed my hand again before letting go to go to the drivers side. My phone.
"I left my phone on the table." I said and he nodded. "I'll start the car go get it."
As I walked towards the entrance I heard him close the car door then I was thrown to the ground.
As I got up I couldn't hear anything but a very loud ringing noise. I felt someone wrap their arms around me and thinking it was Ace let them help me. When I looked I saw Jackson. I turned to the car and it was in flames. And that's the last thing I can remember before someone put a blind fold on me.
