Then!

Erika's POV

"His name is Hunter. He's the son of the Earl of Castello. Unfortunately, Hunter is to be wedded to the daughter of James Limerick, Katherine." My eyes went wide, and it felt like my jaw was going to hit the floor. I started to sway as I tried to reach my bed to sit down on; I had almost fell over. Sebastian caught me, picked me up, and placed me in bed.

"Sebastian, what am I going to do? I think...Hunter is the one."

Now!!

Hunter Castello's POV

"Jacob, what business do I have for today?" I asked my butler as I sat down in my study. The desk was filthy; papers were scattered about the top, and below the desk as well. My maid, Mizuki, came and tried to clean a spot for me to place my cup of coffee.

"You have a Marriage Interview with Katherine Limerick. She has come all the way from Ireland to see you." He answered my question, flawlessly.

"Her father...is it James Limerick by any chance?" I pondered the last name and searched through the clients that remained with my company. James Limerick was one of my Companies best buyers; we talked rarely about business, he mainly brought up his daughter to me. James would say that Katherine was a lovely girl that was perfect to be my bride. I would tune out the rest of which he told of her. Of course, I've never met the girl, but that would change today.

"Yes, you're right, Sir. Do you want me to contact Sir Limerick?"

"No, no. I'll proceed with the interview, and then I'll make my final decision when she leaves." Jacob bowed and left the room. I sat alone for three hours until Jacob came and knocked on my door. "Enter!" I called to him.

"Sir, Ms. Katherine Limerick has arrived and is waiting in the library."

"Thank you, Jacob. I'll be heading over in a few. Until then, please do as she asks." I sat staring at papers and signing documents that had come in. I was waiting for a phone call from Ciel Phantomhive to report to me about the trade that took place last month.

"Certainly, Sir. I will inform Ms. Katherine about the delay." He left once more. And once again, I was alone; the room grew cold with the deafening silence. Papers crinkling bounced off the walls, and back into my ears.

RING! RING! RING!

"Hello? Castello Manner."

"Hello, Hunter. It's me, Ciel. We have some business to discuss."

"Yes, Ciel. About the trade last month, how did that go?"

"It went well. Everything was brought over just fine. Now I have a question for you."

"And what might that be?"

"Now see, my daughter, Erika, has been having some trouble choosing her fiancé. And the other night, she had a nightmare about being alone."

"Oh?"

"Yeah, and something caught my attention when she went out today with Mey-Rin."

"What was that?"

"Erika's journal. A page was marked with a piece of paper; a rather large piece of paper. And my curiosity got to me, so I looked. Turns out it was a picture of a man, with a description of her nightmare. This man seemed so familiar to me, that I had to think about it for a couple of minutes. Well, before I continue, I want to ask you: are you married yet? You're around that age, right?"

"I have a marriage interview in a couple of minutes with James's daughter, Katherine."

"Well, this picture of the man that I had found in my daughters journal....was of you, Hunter!"

"Wait! Your daughter, Erika, dreamt about me in her nightmare?"

"Yeah, in her dream, you had saved her from a life of despair, and loneliness. You saved her from betrayal, and confusion."

I can't believe it. I had nothing to say to what I was hearing. Erika, and I had only met once when she was 4 or 5 years old. She was a stubborn little girl at the time. "How's Erika now? I kinda remember her from when we were kids."

"She is as stubborn as ever!"

"So she hasn't changed at all..." I laugh to myself as I heard a knock at the door. "Sorry, got to go. We'll talk more later, ok?"

"Ok!"

Click!

"Yes, I'm coming." I walked out of my study and to the lady that awaited my visit in the Library. Why did Erika dream about me? I asked myself as I strolled into the Library to see a young lady, around the age of 16, sitting and staring out the window that faced the garden.

"Hello, Ms. Limerick." Her head spun around; she reacted to the sound of my low voice. "I do apologize for the delay of my arrival; I had some business to take care of."

"I don't mind at all." She stood to greet me; an out stretched hand with delicate fingers covered by a white glove. I gently grabbed the hand and kissed the back of it. From there on, we walked through the garden, had lunch near the pond, and later had dinner in the dining room. Katherine was a very beautiful girl that enjoyed to fill her time with her hobbies. She left the next morning around noon; I had made a phone call to Ciel to ask him more about what was in the dream.

"I don't understand what else you want to know. I told you everything that was in my daughter's journal."

"I just want to know if I took her somewhere. Did I take her back home, or what?"

"You..." The line as silent for several minutes. "You carried her out of the black ocean, and took her through the nearby city. It had begun to snow while you carried her. You told her how beautiful her hair was. Once at a small building, you placed her on a bed, and covered her with a wool blanket. You had started a fire. And that's all."

"Wait, a small building outside of the nearby city? I have a cottage on the other side of the river!" I shouted in the phone slightly. The thought never occurred to me before now.

"Hunter, what exactly are you thinking?"

"Nothing! I'm still deciding if I'll marry Katherine."

"Good luck with that, Hunter. I'll talk to you later."

"Ok, talk to you later, then!" I hung up, brought my hands to my face, and rubbed. I was exhausted from yesterday. I grabbed my coffee and drank the rest of it. Jacobs walked in with a letter in his hand.

"Sir, this just arrived for you."

"Who is it from?"

"It's from the Phantomhive Residence, Sir." I took the letter from his hand, and opened it.
