The bell on the door rang as a little boy with puffy brown hair swung himself onto the counter of the Big Donut.

"What can we get you today, Steven?" Sadie laughed as Steven put his legs up, mimicking Lars. The loud music fading from Lars' headphones prevented Lars from even knowing Steven was there, but once the song ended, Lars stood up and was immediately startled by the grinning boy posing as him.

"urhg- Steven! I don't have time for this!" Lars used his hand to sweep his rusty floppy hair out of his face. Steven continued to smile, copying Lars' hair sweep. Lars grunted, pushing Steven off the counter, slowly. Sadie elbowed Lars in the stomach, and Lars rubbed the back of his neck, looking apologetic.

"The usual, PLEASE!!!" Steven bellowed, pretending to stroke a pretend beard.

"Coming right up!" Sadie chuckled and placed the sticky donuts into a bag, handing it over to Steven's twitching fingers.

"Have to g---" Steven rushed out of the Big Donut, not even giving himself a chance to finish his goodbyes.

"Jeez, Lars! Why are you so mean to Steven all the time! It's not like he's done anything to you." Sadie murmured, immediately regretting even mentioning.

"Gahhh!! Why do you even care!"

"He's a good kid!! All you do is taunt him!! And he still deals with your crap."

Lars stiffened, his eyes a bit watery. "Uh? Lars? I'm sorry, I didn't mean-"

"ALLERGIES!!!" Lars shouted, walking swiftly to the breakroom. Sadie laid her head down on the counter and groaned. If he would only come to terms with what he was doing--

She heard a loud sob echo from the breakroom. Crap, Crap, Crap. No, this wasn't her fault. Something else was going on with him. It wasn't her.

Ding! The door to the Big Donut rang as a large line of people crowded in.

"Uh? LARS! Is there some kind of holiday today?"

"No, I don't think so!" she heard a muffled yell come from the breakroom.

"Well I need your help!!!"

Lars came out of the break room with no response, and spent the rest of the day silent, even with Sadie's attempts at beginning a conversation.

Wow. They hadn't had a fight like this since the incident. And that wasn't even a really verbal fight. Sadie folded her extra blankets and placed them at the end of the bed. It was a hot night in Beach City, and Sadie definitely did not need more heat. She checked her phone for texts from Lars, this was casual, not weird at all. Ok, yea. She had a crush on Lars. Of course she wouldn't admit it to anyone but herself, EVEN that was hard. If Sadie really thought about it though, she didn't know much about him. She'd never even seen his parents. They had been gone the night they played video games, and only video games. She wasn't into that kinda stuff, man. It made her queasy just thinking about it. She had heard about the term Asexual, but didn't know exactly what it meant, so she couldn't "come out". And she had never been in a relationship anyway, how could she know? She closed her eyes and laid her head on the pillow, trying not to think about tomorrow.

It was 4am, she was exhausted, and her phone would not stop frickin ringing.

She finally picked it up, brushing her hair behind her ear, sighing.

"Hello? Sadie?"

"Who's this?" she responded in a monotone voice.

"Uh, Lars. Listen, I wanna explain what happened earlier and--"

"Lars! It's 4am! We have work tomorrow."

"I know, I'm sorry, I just can't sleep, and I just want you to know, I can't control it. Ya know, my actions. I don't know why, I wanna be a kind person, I do. But I just want people to like me. And it's so hard Sadie, it really is. I just- I can't say what I want. It's like my mouth ignores my thoughts. I-I'm s-so- sorry."

"Lars-"

He hung up. Sadie couldn't grasp her head around it. How did that even work? How could he not control it? What did it mean? Well, whatever it meant, it had to wait till tomorrow. She had work.
