Where did he go?

*The next morning*

*Spencer's POV*

When I woke up I smelt burning coming from downstairs. I followed the smell and it led to the kitchen where my dad was trying to make breakfast. "Hey Spence, want some?" He said. "No thanks" I say in reply. "What are you doing today?" He asks. "I don't know. Think I'm going to Arias" I say. I'm lying but I didn't want him to know that I was meeting Toby. I don't know if I should tell him or not so I just walk upstairs and get ready.

When I get to The Brew Toby wasn't there. We were supposed to meet there at 12pm and it was 12:15. I walk to his house at half past and ask if he's in. "Sorry Spencer, he's out the now" his dad said and he continued by saying " why, is there something wrong?" " no sir" I say before he nods at me and closes the door.

I go home and text Toby but I get no answer. Maybe he's trying to avoid me?

*Toby's POV*

I had to wake up early. My boss phoned me last night and asked me to go to a carpentry job in Ravenswood. I know it's not the best place to go on your own but a job is a job. To make it even better my phone ran out of battery. I thought I would be back in time to meet Spencer but turns out they wanted me to get as much done as possible.

When I got home and charged my phone I saw Spencer had been trying to reach me. I phoned her and she answered straight away. "Hey, where have you been, I've been trying to reach you? I went to your house, I called you like 5 times. I thought something had happened!" She said in an worried but slightly angry voice. "I'm okay I had a job, and then my phone ran out of charge. I'm so sorry. But I'll make it up to you." I say. " how?" She replies wanting to know more. "I will take you out for a lovely dinner and then a nightly stroll round the park." I say. "Okay then" she answers "pick me up at 7" "bye" I replay.

I go to sleep knowing I will have a perfect day tomorrow with Spencer.
