*Toby's POV*

Me, Caleb and Ezra were hanging out at Ezra's apartment. I don't know how we got on to the topic of love. They were asking questions that were very deep. "So, how's it going with you and Spencer?" Caleb says, winking at me. "Emm..... Yeh, it good." I say. I find it really awkward but the guys seem really open and fine with talking about it. "So, how about when Ali comes back?" Ezra asks, whilst eating a packet of chips. "What do you mean?" I ask. "Well Ali and you aren't the best of friends" Caleb said and Ezra finished his sentence "and Spencer is one of Ali's best friends, what if Ali doesn't like you to together". "I don't think Spencer would choose Ali over me, would she?" I ask starting to think about it. Ali hates me. She's made up rumours about me and I don't know why. Spencer is completely different from her. She's smart, funny, and beautiful. Ali is just mean. "I don't know, I wouldn't think so" Caleb said.

*Later that day*

Spencer came over to my house. I kept thinking about what Caleb and Ezra said about Ali. Spencer wouldn't leave me. I had to ask to be sure. "Spence, can I ask you something?" I ask nervously. "Yeh, anything" she said with a gentle smile. "What will happen when Ali gets back?" I say quietly, trying to avoid eye contact. "What do you mean?" She asks coming closer to me. She sits on my bed beside me with her hand on top of mine. "I mean, what will happen after summer, when we go back to school. When I go back to being the weirdo and you go back to being the popular girl. When rumours start to spread. When......" I was cut of by Spencer replying. "Hey, Toby, if your scared that I will leave you then don't be. I won't, I promise." She lifts my chin and I look her in the eye. "Ali will never say anything about you again and if she does then she'll have me to deal with" she says with a grin spearing on her face. I smile back at her and kiss her quickly on the lips. "What got that into your head?" She asks, concerned. "Em..... I was with Caleb and Ezra and..." "They said I would leave you?" She asks angrily. "No, Spence the were just asking....." "No, why would they think that, I'm not that type of person." She says sounding hurt. "Spence, listen, they wanted to know if we were going to keep dating when school started. They were just wondering what would happen" I say trying to make her feel better. "Did you believe them?" She asks. "No, no, I never. I told them you wouldn't do that" I answer. She lay her head on my shoulder and we sat like that for a while.

Spencer left soon after and I kept thinking about after summer. I know summer only started like 2 weeks ago but it will come to an end. Things will definitely change and no matter what happens. I love Spencer and I want her to know that. She does know that. I need her to know I will never leave her. What will I do?
