Garcia's-
Ring, Ring, Ring

I picked up the phone. It was JJ crying. "JJ calm down, what's wrong?" I asked concerned.

"I-I-Its Morgan," she hiccuped.

My heart temporarily stopped, my throat felt like it was closing.

"What?" I managed to choke out.

My chocolate thunder, my best friend, had been missing for about a week or two. More recently our kid genius Spencer Reid had also gone missing.

Apparently they suspect one of the two may show up soon.

"Well-" She started.

"Well-what!" I asked my voice a bit hopeful.

"We found him,"

"YOU DID?" I practically screamed. But hey, I can't help it I'm happy. I didn't wait for her to respond, as I fired questions at her.

"Where is he? Is he alive? Does he have his memory? Is Reid with him? Did you catch the killer? Is he secretly a narwhal?"

"Ok, ok give me a chance to answer all your questions." I nodded, but then I remembered she couldn't see me.

"Yes he is alive, I think he has his memory, no Reid is not with him, no we didn't catch the killer, he's on the way to the hospital, and did you ask if he's secretly a narwhal..?" She said the last part with a hint of laughter and suspicion.

"No, where would you get that crazy idea!" I laughed, trying to make her forget about that part. Because hey! What can ya do, it's a spur of the moment kind of thing. Haven't we all asked that question before?

"Fine! I did ask that! Anyway what hospital? Is it bad?" I asked.

"Hillside regional, and just come down ASAP," as she said that she seemed to choke up on her words a bit.

"JJ. Tell me how bad is his condition,"

"I-I-I, just come see for yourself."

"JJ, please, please, tell me is he ok" I asked frantically. To the outside eye, I probably looked crazy. I mean I did storm around the around the room hysterically.

"JJ, helloo?" I asked. I looked at the screen, and she had hung up. That butt head. I mean when it comes to one of my best friends, I have to know what is wrong with him, a vague answer is too uninformative for me.

~At the hospital/
I drove to the hospital pretty quickly, and narrowly avoided a few tickets. I ran into the emergency room, I looked around. The FBI agents were quite noticeable. I settled down in a seat next to JJ. "What's his condition?"

She looked up as if she had just noticed me, "We don't know yet, all I know is he was unconscious when we found him." I nodded, and settled into the seat.

For the next few hours neither us had dared to speak, nor had we heard from any doctors. During the time I worried about Morgan, and thought back to the countless number of times we've waited as a team in the emergency room of a hospital.

"Derek Morgan," A voice called out, and I looked up. The person who appeared to have spoken, was a doctor. It didn't take long for us to bombard him with questions such as "Is he ok?", "Can we see him?", and "Where is the bathroom?"

"Well the bathroom is down there," The doctor pointed. Kate nodded in thanks, and made a dash for the bathroom. "As for Derek Morgan, his condition is stable for now, but I regretfully inform you that he is in a coma. It seems his head trauma, along with drugs, are likely to be plaguing his system, and it's having trouble sustaining itself for the time being. Any questions?"

"Yes, do you have any idea how long he will be in the coma?" Hotch asked. The doctor pursed his lips, and took his glasses off. "Honestly? It could be anywhere from 3 days to 3 years, or possibly never. But the good thing is, he should be off life support within the week."

"Life support?" Rossi asked. "Yes, to give him better chances, we have the machine breathing for him. It should help his system a bit. Would you like to see him?" I think we all jumped at the chance as he quickly added "One at a time, please"

Somehow I went first. I followed the doctor through the halls, until we stopped at a door 601 it read. "This is his room, ring the bell if something happens." I nodded, and made note of where the bell is.

I took a deep breath, and walked in. I don't really know what I was expecting, but I do know what I saw, was not that.

A few wires, were hooked up to him, no too many. A mask covered his mouth, with a tube that connected it to a machine. An IV was connected to his arm.

A TV was in the corner, with chairs on either side of his bed. The walls were a cream color, probably an attempt to lighten up the place. The view, slightly improved the room, but not by much.

Morgan, himself, looked at peace. Like nothing could go wrong. That just seemed to make the room more depressing, the fact that he's not aware of what's going on.

I took his cold hand, knowing I would have to let someone else have a turn soon. I gave his hand a reassuring squeeze, and whispered in his ear "I will be here when you wake up, now that's a promise I intend to keep.
