"All right, pencils down," My teacher called out to us. We did as told, but I kept picking up my pencil, picking it up by the end and dropping it back down on my test. I continued to do this until Jocelyn came over and broke me from this weird trance of pencil dropping. Everyone was leaving, so it was just a few people left.

¨Hey, you okay?¨ She asked, and I turned my head to her, and showed her a small smile.

¨Yeah, why wouldn't I be?¨ I heard the teacher call out more details about our test;how they'll be graded, when they'll be graded, and etcetera. I stood up, and followed Josie out of the room. We were walking to the parking lot when she leaned into me.

¨We are so partying tonight,¨ She said, as she looked down on me. She too was a lot taller than me, as Aubrey. I couldn't help but chuckle.

¨Oh my God,¨ I chuckled, and Josie just laughed on.

We were at home, about to go out to get a drink, and Jocelyn insisted on me putting on a lot of makeup. I refused, but she held me down, and put the magenta-burgundy lip stick on me.

¨This is too much,¨ I say, trying to pull away from her strong grip. Of course, she always tried to prove me wrong on everything.

¨No it's not. Okay, it's beautiful, it's sexy, it's everything all in one,¨ She says, and finally lets me go. I get up out of the chair she pinned me to, and look at myself in the mirror.

¨I guess,¨ I say, acting casual on the outside, but on the inside-oh, on the inside, my inner goddess was jumping out of excitement.

¨Whatever, Onika,¨ She said, smirking at me, and went to put her lipstick back in her purse. I arched a glance over my shoulder to see if she was still in here with me. When I saw that she wasn't, I squealed, but only loud enough that I could hear it. When I heard her footsteps coming back , I stopped, and acted casual. The phone rung, and she looked at me.

¨Cab's early, let's go,¨ She said, as she pulled me along. Before we got to the door, there was a knock at the door. She let me go, and went to open it, while I went back to the mirror. Oh God, I..am gorgeous. I smiled at the thought, and Josie came into view. I looked at her in the mirror.

¨Nic, I have a package for you,¨ She said, trying to open it. I turned around and look at her weirdly.

¨What? What package?¨ I say as I make my way over to her. With her hair bouncing, she skips over to me while reading the message posted to the package.

¨Why didn't you tell me there was danger? Why didn't you warn me?

Ladies know what to guard against, because the read novels that tell them of these tricks...¨ I recognize the quote from Tess. I open the box and see that there three were mint condition volumes of Tess of the D'Urbervilles.

¨Oh my- they must be from Aubrey,¨ I put it all together. It'd only been a month since our incident, and he's getting books? This isn't right.

¨Wow..bookworm,¨ She teases as I look inside. I look back at her, and smile.

¨Joss, these are first edition. I can't accept these, I have to take them back, ¨ I say as I try to wrap them back up, the best I can. We both hear a horn outside. Jocelyn put her hands on my shoulders as I got my champagne glass, and took a sip from it.

¨Cab's here, let's go,¨ She says, as I take a long gulp of the champagne. ¨Ready?¨ She asked, and she took her hands off of my shoulders. I nod my head.

¨Ready,¨ I say, and we're off.

Joss, Louis, and I were at out table drinking the shots. Jocelyn and I both counted down from three, and took a huge shot. Josie took hers like a pro, while I was just coughing. Louis patted my back.

¨You okay,¨ He asked, laughing. I shook my head, smiling.

¨No,¨ I said, finally opening my mouth and talking. I turned to Josie, who was in the middle of taking another. ¨Hey, I'm gonna go pee,¨ She nodded her head with a thumbs up, and I got up.

¨Where ya goin'?¨ Louis asked me.

¨I got-I'm gonna go pee,¨ I said, wasted out of my mind. He nodded, and mingled with Jocelyn. I walked to the bathroom, and just my luck-a line. I sighed with an eye roll, and just waited my turn. I checked my phone, and went into my contacts. I automatically saw Aubrey's number.

Debating on whether or not I should delete it or not, I came up with a sneaky, drunk idea. I giggled to myself as I called his number. I heard the little tone, and then I heard his voice.

"Hello?" He asked, and he sounded busy. Alright, time to take action, Onika.

"Hi, I just wanted to let you know that I am going to give you your very expensive books back. I can't accept them," I said, not hiding my drunken state. I think he caught on pretty quickly, because he immediately started to ask questions.

"Nicki, are you drunk?" God, must this man know everything?

"Pfff, no," I scoffed. He didn't buy it.

"Nicki, I am coming to get you, what bar are you at?" I started to feel the alcohol take over.

"The None-of-Your-Business bar. How bout that, nigga?" I actually happen to love drunk Nicki. She's so brave, and I like it.

"You know what? I'm coming to get you, even if I have to look all over LA," Jeez, he sounded grumpy.

"No, you don't need t-"

I'll see you soon," He hung up right in my face.

"Aubrey? " Ugh, damn. I put my phone in my pocket, and just continue to wait my turn.

Once I was finished, I went out to see Lou and Joss dancing like no one's business. I pull her away from him, and go somewhere else.

"What?" She asked, feeling the music through her body.

"Nothing, I just wanted to take pictures," She looked at me like I was high.

"Pictures? Is that what you dragged me over here for? Girl, go-"

"Please," I say, and she sucks her teeth.

"Fine, just one," I squealed. Wow, I really am drunk. We took the picture, and it was a nice. She was leaning on me, while I just puckered my lips. "Pretty," She commented, and went back to Louis. All I have to do is wait for Aubrey.
