Chapter 12 - They're Really Early

Ciara's POV: (Ciara 30 weeks 0 days)

So I woke up in pain and the bed was soaked with fluid. I wake up Michael and tell him about it. He jumps up out of bed and gets dressed quickly and carries me to the car and drives me to the hospital. We arrive at the hospital and I get checked in. The doctor puts me in the labor ward and hook me up to the monitor and wrap my belly in straps that monitor the babies. "Am I in labor?" I ask. "Your water broke during the night and your 5 centimeters dilated so in a few hours you will be able to start pushing out the babies." The girl doctor says. "But I'm only 30 weeks, it's not time for them to come yet." I say. "This is actually really common with twins. They never really make it the full term but this is actually way to early for the babies to be here. You're only 7 months. The babies are gonna be staying in the ICU hooked up on monitors to help them breathe and help them survive since not everything is fully developed." She says. "How long do they have to stay in there?" Michael asked. "For 2 months or until they can breathe on their own." She says. Once she said that I start freaking out and screaming and yelling. Michael tries to calm me down so the monitor will stop beeping rapidly. "Baby calm down. You flipping out is not good for the babies." He says which calms me down a little bit.

* A Few Hours Later*

The babies are ready to be delivered. The doctor comes in the room and puts on a little mask to cover his nose and mouth and puts gloves on. "You can start pushing now when the next contraction comes." Dr. Matthews says. The next contraction comes and I start pushing, it stops and I stop pushing. 20 minutes later, Kaitlyn Naomi is born. I have to start pushing again and 15 minutes later, Elizabeth Jade is born.

Michael's POV:

It is now 10:30am. Ciara is holding Kaitlyn and I'm holding Elizabeth. Kaitlyn looks just like her mother while Elizabeth looks just like me. I'm so glad Ciara let me come back. I will never leave her again. In fact I have a surprise for her when it comes time to leave the hospital.

*A Few Days Later*

Dr. Matthews says that we can leave to go home today. "I don't want to leave. I wanna stay here with the babies until they can go home." Ciara says. "The doctor said we can come everyday to visit them and plus our little princesses might be able to come home earlier if they start breathing on their own." I say. "Fine but we're coming back first thing tomorrow morning." I laugh. She has always been this assertive. "Okay but first I want to take you somewhere." I say. "Where?" She asks. "It's a surprise. You have to wait to find out." I say. I already know where I'm taking her. It's a very special place.

What do you think Michael is going to do??? Where do you think he is taking her???? What did you think of the chapter??? Sorry it took me forever to write this chapter.... Haven't had time but now that it is a four day weekend outta school... Imma try to update again some time today... Let me know what you guys think he's going to do and where he's going to go. Next update either today or tomorrow. Also sorry that the chapter is short. I was trying to rush to finish what was left of the chapter. Next update should be longer depending on how I feel.
