While we drove as quickly as the speed limit would let us, we ate the breakfast I prepared, nibbling on apple slices and sipping coffee. After both of us finished, Mark began holding my hand, lacing our fingers together. It was the greatest feeling, holding his hand in mine; it still felt like a dream. I would sometimes seize the opportunity to give him quick peeks on his cheek. It would make him blush and smile, taking my breath away. Even though he told me every time, "Jack, stop it! I'm trying to drive!", I knew he really didn't mind.
It was about 8:10 a.m. when we were halfway to the center, but slight traffic set in. "Damnit," Mark mutter under his breath. "Jack, we might be late because of this." He sighed, but it was fine by me. Yes, of course, being late to a big Youtube convention really wasn't a good thing, but that means I could spend a little extra time with Markimoo before not seeing him for most of the day. I leaned over onto his shoulder. "It'll be okay, Mark," I said, rubbing my thumb over his hand intertwined with mine. "We'll make it." I gave him a reassuring kiss. He smiled, saying, "Okay, Jackarooney. Thanks." It made me smile to see him smile at me. 'Oh, he's way too cute with that smile.' My eyes began to wonder about Mark's car as we waited in the line of traffic. As they did, I saw some of his things more closely: a peppermint air freshener, stellar shades, his Vidcon pass and an iPod. I stared at the device questionably. 'Why does he have an iPod? He said he really doesn't listen to music.' I picked it up, looking at the Apple electronic in my hand. When I turned it over, the back of it was a shade of green, with an engraving on the back saying "Jackarooney", and my Youtube logo where the Apple trademark was. My eyes widened at the sight of it. Finally, Mark saw it in my hands and became flustered, stammering a bunch of jumbled words. "Oh, Jack-uh well- you see-um," he began to blush a hard shade of red. "Mark, is this for me?", I asked, still stunned by the iPod. "Well," he began, calming down a little. "I really wanted to get you something special, and I know you like music, so I got you this. As I put on songs and bands you like, I began to listen to them a lot and put on other.... songs." He scratched his head and turned a deeper crimson red. "It.... it was also how I was going to ask you out." I looked back down at the device. 'How the hell was he going to ask me out with this?'
"So, um," I said. "Could I have the password?" "Oh, of course," he said, still slightly red. "It's yours, after all. The password is Sean,7326." I was a little stunned that he used my name, but tried not to show it. "Thank you," I said, typing in the numbers that represented my true name without hesitation. I pressed the music app and began to scroll through the songs. I knew so many of the songs, and smiled at the fact Mark knew so much about me and took out some of his time to do this for me. I then found a playlist that read "Love Songs <3." 'Oh, is this what he meant by "other songs"?' I scrolled through it, finding cute little songs. There were a few that I did know, and then there were others with names that stuck out, such as "Cute" by Stephen Jerzak. 'Maybe I'll listen to that later.'
I then pressed the gallery, and saw that he tried out the camera. I giggled at all of Mark's funny faces. I could see Mark look over and smile at these stupid photos. I then scrolled to a video with Mark's face on it. 'What's this?' I became very curious, so I plugged in my blue earbuds and pressed it. It popped up, playing the video of him, and as it did, I stared in awe.
"Hey, Jack. Ummmm..... I don't know if you'll ever see this. I might just delete it, or maybe I'll be too scared to give you this iPod. But, if you do see this, I must confess how I feel about you. It's always nice to see you, talk to you, hang out and such. But, I feel like we should be more than friends. I hope it's okay for me to say this, but umm..." He then leaned over in the video, shouting, "Oh, god. I don't think I can do this." He came back up, blushing slightly with a small smile on his face. "Oh, well. Here it goes." He took a deep breath. "I, uh, I love you. I just hope you feel the same."
The video ended. I looked over at Mark. He must have known I was watching because he had his head turned away from me, and I could see some red across his face. I put my hand on his shoulder and he slowly turned his face. By one look at him, you could tell he was embarrassed. He began to speak softly. "Jack, I know that was really dumb and I should've deleted that, but-" I cut him off with a kiss. When we broke it, I looked straight into his eyes and told him, "That wasn't dumb, that was really cute. It would've been a really adorable way to ask me out. Sorry, I couldn't wait." I smiled brightly at him. Just knowing he planned to do this from the start made me so happy, I could just jump to the moon (though that wouldn't be possible or the best thing to do right now). He shyly smiled back, then focussed his attention to the road again. This was the best place to be right now, having this time with him. I was still looking through all of the songs when I noticed my phone buzzing in my pocket. There were a bunch of tweets, saying stuff like: "On my way to meet Mark and Jack. #dreamcometrue." "So close to Vidcon, yet so far away." "I can't wait for the Mark and Friends panel #friendship #yayVidcon #meetingYoutubes" I was so excited to meet all of these people that I began to dance in my seat. I took one final glance at Twitter and saw a tweet that made me realize a problem. "Finally, I will truly see Septiplier irl #yas #Vidcon #SeptiplierAway" 'Oh, crap! What are we going to do about the fans?! Should we tell them?'
I put down my phone and looked at Mark. His eyes never wavered from the road until he noticed me staring. He looked over at me, concern across his face. "What's wrong?", he asked. "Is everything alright?" I sighed, looking deeply into his dreamy brown eyes, but lowered my head. "Um...well, I just remembered something we need to figure out," I said in a serious voice. "What are we supposed to tell our fans? Do we say we're a couple now, or do we wait?" Mark looked back at the road, having his thinking face on. After staring at the road for a few moments, he looked over at me. "Uh...., well. To tell you the truth, I really don't know what to do. If we try to hide it, it'll be a lot of pressure on us; I don't know if I can keep my eyes and hands off you the whole time." I looked down at the floorboards and blushed. "But, if we do tell our fans at Vidcon," he continued. "Not everyone will know at the same time, and it'll be spread out before we could put up a vlog about it. Either way, it's going to be hard and we'll put up a video later." He looked over at me. "It's up to you when the time comes." Mark gave me a big smile, hoping I could make a good decision. We finally found the exit to the center, and my heart was beating out of my chest. Whatever the decision may be, this wasn't going to be easy.
A/N: I sincerly appologize for not writing earlier. There was a lot happening last week (and this week) that pushed down my "writing time". My birthday was the 16th, my mom gave me a surprise party at my aunt's place, so yeah. Also, I found out about Daniel, and it made me kinda depressed. It felt like I lost a friend, even though I didn't know him. Rest in peace, Daniel Kyre. On top of being sad, I had recieved a cold. So, yeah, this was the best week ever (sarcasm). But, I at least got up this chapter, and I hope you guys enjoy it(even if it isn't really good whatsoever). I will update very soon and may be working on a few one-shots, so don't freak out. I will write more of this story. Anyways, I will see you guys later. Ciao!
