You and only you

Chapter 5

I wake up before Veronica. She is snuggled up close to me. Before I get out of the bed I place a small kiss on her forehead. I hop out of bed and head into the other room. I look through her fridge and cabinets to find something for breakfast. All I find is cereal.

As I eat, I hear Veronica get up. She walks out and see's me sitting at the table. She smiles. "Hey, you ok? You were pretty upset last night." I look up at her, "Ya I'm fine, um could I talk to you?" She comes and sits across from me, "Ya sure what's up?" I take a deep breath, "I'm going to break up with Phil today and get my stuff and... I want you to come with me."

She looks at me and gives me a small smile. "Of course. Do you um...um...want to live with me for awhile?" I smile at her, finally! "Ya that would be great, thanks."

As I stand outside of my old front door I finally realize that this is the right thing to do. I tell Veronica to stay outside till I tell her to come in.

I take a deep breath and knock on the door. I hear Phil run to the door. He swings it open and smiles, "Dan!!!!! I'm so glad your home!!!!! I've missed you so..." I cut him off.

"Phil we need to talk." We go and sit on the couch. "Listen Phil, I think we should break up." He doesn't say anything. "I saw the picture of you and Adrian on Instagram last night and... I think you should be with him." He begins to say, "But Dan..." I interrupt him "No Phil you can't change my mind on this. I'm just here to pack up my things." He still doesn't say anything so I go over to the door and tell Veronica to come in.

"Who is this?" He finally says. "It's the phone lady." She snaps.

Phil sits there on the couch and watches us walk into my room. We pack everything up and before I leave Phil shouts, "DAN I'M SO SORRY!" But I ignore him and slam the door shut.
