The Prologue.
Man is here for only one reason, to discover, and that's one of our greatest weaknesses... For centuries, humans have discovered more and more, and have obtained knowledge through it. But sometimes it's better to leave it alone.
In 2015, NASA told the world that they were going to send astronauts to Mars in 2025, and their mission was to colonize it. So in 2025, they set off, and they sought for new hope. Once they arrived in 2032 they studied the area and noticed something strange, the poles were off. For even further studies, they went 14 kilometers east, or at least what was thought to be east, but the compasses showed the same results. They were pointing at an exact point. So in their curiosity, they went to find out why. Man was made to explore, and that's what they did. Weeks and weeks they traveled to their so called "destination", but little did they know that this discovery would change everything they have ever known. They found, The Traveler...
The Traveler
We named it, the Traveler, and its arrival changed us forever. When the Traveler was found, we could all speak to it, and it would respond. He showed us everything we know now, he showed us how to turn Mars into city's, Venus into a garden, and Earth even better than before. Human life span tripled, and we had acquired new knowledge. But as we all know, not everything last forever. After centuries of new knowledge and advancement, it all came to an end. The Traveler had its enemy, the Darkness. The Darkness had been looking for us, and it found us. And so like a lightning strike, the golden age had ended, all we could religh on was the Traveler. But as you may know, that didn't last too long. The darkness had taken over all that we knew, except one place that the Traveler protected with its life. And in his dieing breath, he created The Ghosts, and these ghosts would guide us like the Traveler did. And with the ghosts came the Guardians. Guardians are humanity's last hope, they are the only ones who can fight back the darkness now, and with the help of their ghosts, they will do so.
The Ghost
"Hello...hello..? I hope u can... me because we... get out of her, and quick!" Says the strange Ghost. "Ughh, what?" I look up as the Ghost shines a beam of light at my face. "Ahh! Turn the stupid light off!" I yell. It quickly turns it off and quickly spins around, like as if its looking at something. "Are you insane? Keep your voice down, the fallen can hear you!" I ponder for a moment, fallen? what's that? "Fallen?" I ask in a puzzled manner. "Yes yes, fallen. Look Guardian, there's many things you won't understand, u have been.. well... uh, asleap for a very very very long time. Just listen and follow my instructions, and we get out of this forsaken place alive. Together." The little Ghost demands. What does he mean by asleap? As I realize that the only thing I've been staring at was the Ghost, I look around. As I do so, all I see is a wasteland. Rusted cars all round me, and in front there seems to be a type of building of some sort. Where the hell am I? (Loud Roar) "What the-" before I can say anything else I'm cut off by the Ghost. "We need to get out of here, and fast!" As he says that, he disappears, and I feel a sudden boost of energy. "As you can tell, I have become one with you, I'm just a voice in the back of your head, but like I said, let's get moving!" He exclaims with a bit of worry in his tone. As I hear another roar in the distance, I feel fear for my well being, so I don't hesitate to go where he tells me to. "Ok Guardian, just go inside that building in front of you, in that door." He tells me. I wonder were I am, I don't remember much of what happened before this, was I... dead? Humbug, not important, what's important right now is going inside, I bet there's something useful in there. As we enter the building, I see what little is left of once was territory of humanity. To the rusted walls, to the puddles on the concrete floor, its eary.
"What happened to this place?" I ask. "Shhh! I hear something.." We stop and pause for a few seconds, then I feel something release from me and out comes the Ghost. "Let's light this place up, shall we?" As soon as he says that, he shines a beam again and dozens of green glowing eyes respond back to us. "RUN!!" As the Ghost enters back in me, I don't hesitate to run toward what I think is a gate, and it was. "Its closed, dammit! Oh, wait, its open enough to lever it!" As I speak to myself, I hear what I assume is gunfire, and as I look back, it is. I quickly grab the small crevice of the bottom, and lift. "Ughh!" I moan in agony. "Go go!" My Ghost yells. I slip under the gate as it smashes behind me with brute force. As I look up, I see a gun and a chest on the ground. "looks like an outpost, a small one too" My Ghost exclaims to the echoing sound of gunfire. "Take it." He says. I get the gun, which is an assault rifle, and I open the chest to find ammo. "Oh horray for me." I say out loud. "I hope your ready for this, it's not going to be easy.." The Ghost says, "Oh, I know." I respond back. As I reload the gun I step into the next hallway. As I walk through the halfway I stop and listen. I hear rustling under my feet. "Oh no, watch out, move!" My Ghost demands. I quickly get out of the way as The so called "Fallen" jump from under the floor vent and point the weapons at me. "Sqiblahak!" The creature yells as the rest of his buddy's come out. For some reason I quickly get out my gun and shoot rapidly at then, with no questions asked. Before I knew it, they are all stone cold dead. "Wow, amazing set of skills you have there!" The Ghost exclaims. "Umm, thank you?" I hesitantly mutter. "Well keep it like that, you'll need them very soon...
