Where are you going Ari?
Ariadne Sybill stopped in her tracks. It had begun to rain as soon as she left the manor. Axel had been following her for a while and she had paid no mind.
Away.
She didn't turn around knowing that if she did she would inevitably see the broken expression on his face asking her, begging her to stay. But she had to go. Lest she endanger all of the people she loves once again.
Please don't go
She could hardly hear him over the echoes of the rain She closed her eyes briefly at the intensity in his words
I have to, she choked out, Who knows what he'll do to you, all of you if I don't!
Her voice gave way as she tried to work her way around the lump in her throat. She still didn't turn. Her feet refusing to move.
We can figure this out together! You don't have to live in fear!
His voice carried over a ways as he jogged the last few metres towards her
NO! You don't understand! If he does even half the things he did to me for all those years I-"
Her voice broke she was grateful to the rain for covering the tear tracks down her face. He was more perceptive than she thought though and all of a sudden she felt his arms snake around her, holding her tenderly, he tugged her into his arms.
You don't have to do this alone. The rain drenched their clothing and stopped her words.
She hesitantly returned the embrace.
He'll hurt you Axel pulled back Would you really let that happen? She smiled softly What about me then? He'll come looking for me, He'll take me back to that place and..and-I can't, I just-I-
Her voice broke as she tried to finish her sentence. Slowly she tilted her head back to look into his eyes, to let him know that there was no other option, and was surprised to find fury written all over them. He took her head in his hands and placed his forehead on hers.
I will never let that happen beautiful.
Finally after months of skirting around one another, His mouth covered hers in what could only be described as desperation. He seemed to be telling her words that cannot be expressed by any words in any language in any world. They pulled back moments, years, seconds later and she smiled a watery smile,
Took you long enough.
