Me and Jenny started sitting next to each other on the bus everyday. We were best friends. We would play after school. We would sit up in this tree near my house. She taught me blue to read and I taught her how to swing. We would sit up there at night and Jenny didn't want to leave. Mama was probably getting worried about me.
"Please just a little longer?" She asked.
"Sure Jenny." Me and Jenny are like peas and carrots. One day Jenny wasn't on the bus on the way to school. I went to her house to see why she wasn't in school. I knocked on the door, but there was no answer.
"Jenny?" I called but still no answer. I ran to the back yard and she grabbed me by the wrist.
"Forest, you gotta be quiet, daddy's taking a nap." She said. We started to run into the corn field.
"Jenny!" Her father called running outside with a nearly empty bottle of whiskey.
"Pray with me Forrest. Pray with me" she whispered. We knelt on the floor and started praying.
"Please God, make me into a bird so I can fly far far away. Please God make me into a bird so I can fly far far away."

Thank you for reading! I'm sooooo sorry I haven't updated in like forever. It was hard with ending softball, starting and ending camp, vacation, summer assignments, and transitioning in to school (whoa i started 9th grade). So I'll try to update as soon as I can. With volleyball and homework and stuff it will be hard but I'll do it!
