This show is just .... it really knows how to draw in an audience. My friends had started watching this before me and I was clueless as to what they talked about most of the time. They were appalled when they heard I haven't watched and they made me sit down and watch, to which I had immediately fell in love. I do warn you, it is not your typical cartoon. I don't know how to quite word it but I highly recommend it! (Each episode is only about 11 minutes!) :D
But a quick summary: Steven Universe lives with his dad in Beach City with three gems: Garnet, Amethyst, and Pearl. They are known as the Crystal Gems. They have these adventures that unfold who each gem is, their backgrounds, and how they made their way to the Earth to protect it. Other gems, controlled by these three (or four?) Diamonds, are trying really hard to destroy Earth and make it a hub for making more gems.
The main kick of this show is that all the gems are female and it's just great.
