I froze, petrified with shock and horror. I didn't think they would take things this far. The government is crazy. This would work. But so many would be killed...

"President Obama has issued the an Armed Forces Nucleur Air Strike, perhaps ending all traces of the Disease which has caused so much pain and suffering, after losing his wife, first Lady, Michelle Obama to the disease. The Common name for this disease has started by a young girl who is taking America by storm after being sighted with British Irish boyband, One Direction. No one knows who this Mary Jane i, but she has been nicknamed the Golden Flash.

"Cliche as it sounds, this girl is finding survivors and saving them! She sends them to Baja Islands, which is where Barack Obama now recomends everyone (uninfected by KSZ got to,to avoid being destroyed by the nuceleur air strike.

"We don't know much, but we do know we have two weeks. Two weeks to evacuate until the Air Stike. God Be With You, Over and Out." The radio host signed off followed by static.

We were at the Rest Stop when this happened, when I was alone, after I sent the boys in.

I had two weeks to go to Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, and Louisianna to find my friends, and then finish the trek across the rest of America? This isn't possible....

I woke up with a gasp. I began panting as my eyes struggled to be accustomed to the light. It was a worn down part of the store and I was in a cot.

"Good, your up." I heard a feminine voice accolade from a corner of the room. I couldn't fight the smile that tweaked my lips.

"Lyrike!" I whispered. I felt slender arms wrap around my shoulders and for once, I felt safer. Yes, I felt safe in the arms of a fifteen year old. Call me cliché.

"How ya' been darling?" She asked me as we stayed in that hugging position for a while. I breathed a sigh and fixed our position so I could look at her.

"Not sure how to answer that." Pain shot through my leg and I winced. "Why does my leg hurt!" I growled. Her eyes saddened.

"You stepped on one of our glass bombs. Don't worry, we got all the shrattenal and glass shards removed, but you'll still be sore for a while." I nodded in understanding and rubbed my calf. "You were very submissive and coped to our medical staff we have handy here, so there was no struggle. You did great." She reassured, sending me a pearly smile. She then flinched and the smile fell, her eyebrows furrowing.

"The only problem was making your friend let you go and allow us to do our jobs." She pondered. I raised an eyebrow.

"Friend?"

"Yeah, the cute brunette with the curls." She described. I blinked in shock. Is she serious? Judging by how Harry acted last night at the rest stop, I would have thought he wouldn't have cared.

"Harry?" I questioned, still completely dumbfounded. I fellt a confidence ring a bell in my heart, and a warmth I was very much foreign to, spread through my chest. My heart picked up speed, and I twiddled my thumbs uncomfortably. I tried unsuccessfully to tame the dragons in my stomach.

It couldn't be...she's lying...

"Yeah! Him! Every time you would flinch or look like you were in pain the boys had to hold him back from interfering." Lyrike explained.

I couldn't keep my thoughts in line, there was no order, it was like picking the wild card in uno and you couldn't decide which card to play next. What color, what number, what options do I have?

"Lyrike, do you think you can gather everyone together in one spot for me?" I asked, eyeing the cat clock on the wall. She was hesitant at first, but nodded.

"I believe so. Why?"

The Radio Broadcast haunted me, the words puting an uncomfortable pit in my stomach.

"Because we're all going to die."

My Lyrike kept true to her word, and managed to get everyone in the front of the store. I noticed the boys were off to the side talking to some young teen girls who were around 16.

Oh fuck...public speaking...

I hadn't seen this many people in one spot since...I believe the beginning of the Apocalypse. Lyrike motioned for me to step up and I drew in a deep breath.

I clambered up to the makeshift stage, which was just a bunch of crates. The moment I was up, the roar of talking silenced. I swallowed and stared above their heads. You know the saying, just picture everyone naked? Well, that's actually a horrible idea, because theres a few namely people out here that I do NOT want to see naked, and when you think about the distrubing images, you make strange faces.

"Uhm..." I cleared my throat and locked out my legs to keep my knees from buckling. "Many of you know by now, that I am a part of a travelling group. We are trying to pick up specific survivors, one of which is among you." My eyes met Lyrike and she shot me an enouraging smile.

"I understand this is random, and out of the blue, but you have to listen to me. Me and my friends are going to the Baja islands, there I am positive there is no disease. I strongly encourage you and your family and friends to share this destination, and try to make it in the next two weeks."

A murmur spread through crowd, many shouting profanity, expressing their strong dislike for my idea.

"Dumb bitch! We'd be safer here!"

"I'm not about to get turned into a Walker!"

"It's safe here!"

My eyes flashed with anger. "HEY!!! WHEN MY MOUTH OPENS YOURS SHOULD SHUT!!! BE RESPECTFUL!!!" I bellowed. Silence. You could hear a pin drop. "I'm not asking you. This is an order. If youare not infected or exposed to the virus, head to the Baja islands.

"Because if you don't,"

I felt my lips twist into a nonremorseful smirk. "You'll get blown to bits with the rest of America." This time, the tension was so tight you could cut it with a kife. "We have two weeks to evacuate America before the nuclear air strike is launched. Each night, on 87.9 AM they broadcast the time left you have to evacuate, along with a newsreport. I breathed in and calmed down. "I have more dignity and pride than to allow you all to walk around and then blow up. That's why I warned you. Go to an island, get for away from america, then sit back and watch the fireworks."

One brave soul asked, :"Where are you going next?"

I pursed my lips and thought for a moment. "Ozark Alabama. Look, just take what I said into consideration, and please, please be safe. Thank you."

I hopped down from the crates and met up with the boys. "I-I," Niall stammered. "I didn't know we were on a time clock."

Liam rubbed his shoulder and I avoided Harry's mesmerizing green gaze.

"Your very outspoken." Zayn commented. "That's a very good thing."

Someone jumped to my side and I turned to them with a smile. Lyrike gleamed happiness and I realized she had her ginger locks pulled back into a high ponytail. She had her bag slung over her shoulder, and two other bags with her, not to mention the bad ass cross bow she held in her hands.

"Ready?" I asked, looking her over, pretty sure the boys were doing the same. She smirked.

"Damn straight." She answered confidently.

And Here. We...GO.
