Magic! (Camren)

Chapter 3

'Are you ok?' Lauren frowned at the text, using one hand to run through her sisters hair as she typed back with the other.

'Yeah, why?'

'You just weren't where you usually perform today and I was worried incase something happened.'

Lauren grinned to herself as she replied to the text. 'Yeah, I'm ok. My sister is sick so I had to stay home.'

'Is she ok?'

'Yeah, there's a stomach bug going around in the after school care she goes and she caught it. She'll be good by tomorrow.'

'Ok, good. I kinda missed seeing you today.'

Lauren couldn't help but grin, no one had ever really liked her enough to miss her.

'My brother gets back in about a half hour and he can look after Taylor, maybe we could go out tonight? Your friend Ally, too if you'd like. There's this really cool movie about magic, it's call 'Now You See Me' and it looks kinda good.'

"What are you smiling about?" Taylor asked making Lauren look down at her.

"Nothing."

"It's a girl, isn't it? What's her name?" Taylor grinned, poking her pointer finger against Lauren's cheek.

"She's just a friend." Lauren shrugged, looking from her sister to her phone when it buzzed again.

'You mind if two of my other friends come along? Their names are Dinah and Normani and they're nice.'

Lauren chewed nervously on her bottom lip, she wasn't good at making friends, hence why she didn't have any, but she seemed to do well with Camila and Ally so that put her a little more at ease.

'Of course. I'll text you once my brother is back and we will check the next viewing.'

'Sounds good, see you then and tell your sister I hope she feels better soon.'

"Camila said she hopes you feel better soon."

"So when am I going to meet your girlfriend?"

"She isn't my girlfriend, loser."

"Whatever you say but I haven't see you smile like that since before grandpa died."

"She's just a friend. She's nice."

"Mhm, whatever you say."

Lauren waited for about a half hour for her brother, Chris, to come home then arranged to meet Camila and her friends for the nine o'clock showing.

Lauren smiled when she walked up to the theater and Camila was sitting on the banister waiting for her.

"Hey."

Camila looked up, smiling when she noticed Lauren. "Hey."

"Where's your friends?"

"Inside getting popcorn and stuff. Come on, we will go get the tickets."

Lauren nodded, following Camila inside.

"Oh, hey. You must be the magic chick that Camila doesn't stop talking about. I'm Dinah."

"And I'm Normani."

"I'm Lauren."

"She's cute, 'mila." Dinah said, giving an approving nod.

"Guys, stop ogling her! You're making her uncomfortable." Camila hissed and Lauren just smiled bashfully, looking down at her feet.

"Ok, lets go get the ticket before Lauren bails from you perves." Ally said, push Dinah and Normani towards the ticket office.
